The Research On Decisive Factor And Evaluation Of Cities Design Competitiveness

On the background that knowledge and information are the core competitiveness of the global economic, the Design Industry becomes the various countries’new economic growth engine. Design is a blend of unique resources that contains decision-making thinking and specific implementation capacity. It will abstract scientific thinking into concrete productivity. Therefore, enhancing the innovative design capabilities of cities or regions would vigorously promote the city’s personalized economic development, the strength of country design ability would also affect the achievement of development goals. Therefore, in this paper, I plan to manage the design resources as a strategic resource in country development, focusing on the competitiveness of country design and seeking to establish a model of design strategy based on design competitiveness. This thesis carries out systematic research into the formation mechanism and evaluation of cities’design competitiveness and the main research contents and the results are as follows:(1) The definition of cities design competitiveness and the analysis of the determinants. By means of reviewing of related theoretical accomplishment about design, design economy, competitiveness, and creative industry, this article starts with a summing up of the research result about cities’ creative competitiveness and its determinants to perform an exploratory definition of the concepts about cities’ design competitiveness and construct a basic concept model of cities’ design competitiveness. Secondly, the paper researches evaluation of related creative index, domestic and overseas, putting forward that the five determinants of cities’ design competitiveness are design resources integration, design environment support, design network operating force, design performance expression and sustainable development of ascending power.(2) Build theoretical model of determinants of cities’ design competitiveness to analyze the coupled relationship. According to the theoretical frames above, the paper build an evaluation model of cities’ design competitiveness, and analyzed the cities’ design competitiveness of 3 typical cities in China (Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou) by using Principal Component Analysis. As the results and the trends of transverse and longitudinal evaluation, the conclusion of the empirical analysis from this paper is identical to the other conclusions studied by other authors.(3) Lastly, the paper explains the design practice of world developed country and city, and analyzes the concrete measures from macroscopic view, about how the world developed countries improve their design competitiveness. Then extracts experience in improving the creative competence and the counter measures in improving the creative competitiveness of our country are put forward.In conclusion:through the study of this paper, the key elements of the urban design competitiveness are cleared, the formation mechanism of urban design competitiveness is clarified, and the evaluation model of design city competitiveness is designed out. Besides, the paper gives an evaluation of the situation of the main cities’ design competitiveness in China, constitutes a more targeted strategy in improving urban design competitiveness, and provides the theory basis and the practical reference value for the sustainable development and policy making of our cities.
