Inventory is a very important property in the enterprise assets. For manufacturing enterprise, inventory is not only the most important part of current assets,but also the cornerstone of normal operation. Inventory management is the core part of enterprise management. Its level of management affects the operating efficiency and management effect of a company. It has crucial impact on company’s survival and development. Although scholars at home and abroad have carried on deep research and discussion of inventory management theory, and have formed many excellent research achievements, inventory management level of our enterprises is still very low. More and more inventory management problems have been occurred. It’s partly because of the management level of our country’s enterprise isn’t very high, and the scientific inventory management theories and methods haven’t been well applied. The new normal economic development of our country in recent years brings not only new development opportunities but also a lot of challenges for enterprises at the same time. The competition between enterprises is increasingly fierce. In such macro environment, the improvement of enterprise inventory management is very important for maintaining normal production and operation. Also it’s vital to ensure long-term development of a company. This paper takes the inventory management problem of Liaoning BC Color Coated Steel Manufacturing Company as the research object, using literature study, on-the-spot investigation method and qualitative analysis method and other methods to study. Liaoning BC Color coated steel plate manufacturing co.,Ltd founded in 2003. It’s a professional color coated steel plate manufacturing company, including scientific research, production, processing and selling. In basis of large literature reading and theory learning, this paper has carried on the qualitative analysis of BC company inventory management questions, using the financial statements and other stock materials.These inventory materials are got from field research. This paper summarizes the general problems existing in the inventory management of BC company. There are four main problems in its inventory management.For example, the process of inventory management isn’t standard; The produces are overstocked and put in chaos;the speed of inventory management information transmission is slow; the inventory management efficiency of employees is low. Then it analysis the main reasons for these problems. Theses reasons are as follows:The inventory control concept of management is out of time. There are some deficiencies in the inventory management system. There is no useful technical means in its inventory management. Finally, this paper puts forward some valuable suggestions to improve inventory management. Update management inventory control concepts. Improve the inventory management system. Adopt scientific inventory management techniques. This improvement can help BC company reduce operating costs, improve the service efficiency of funds and increase enterprise’s competitive advantage. In this way, BC company can achieve long-term and stable development. The results of this paper also have certain reference significance for other companies in this industry to improve inventory management.
