Recently, it is in the transition period of Chinese economy,the market environment is changing rapidly. Besides, the dynamic economic environment requires enterprises to change their management strategies timely to cope with the external competition. The scientific-oriented small and mid-sized enterprises as the booster of national economic development, needs the support from the government and their own growth, which is more important for their development. As the core members of companies, internal social capital of the members in top management team play the decisive role on how to help enterprises to formulate reasonable strategic decisions to deal with the fierce market competition. Strategic flexibility as a method of adjusting resources and excavating resources, is to improve enterprise competitive advantage more and more attentively by scholars both at home and abroad.Therefore,the effect between internal social capital of the members in top management team and strategic flexibility, directly decide the level of enterprise performance.By reviewing the related research of scholars both at home and abroad, we can find most scholars in the research of relationship between TMT and enterprise performance are forced on the population characteristics and the team composition of TMT on the impact of enterprise performance.Limited research has drawn attention on the relationship between internal social capital of top management team and enterprise performance. Therefore, this paper mainly studies the influence of TMT social capital and strategic flexibility on enterprise performance.Based on resource-based theory,this paper intends to use three aspects, structural dimension, relationship dimension and cognitive dimension to describe internal social capital of TMT and introduce the resource flexibility and capacity flexibility of strategic flexibility.Furthermore, this essay also tries to construct the internal social capital of top management team, strategic flexibility and enterprise performance research model on this basis and verifies the relationship among internal social capital of top management and company performance, and strategic flexibility has played the role of mediation. The research objects in this paper are the scientific-oriented small and mid-sized enterprises of Tianjin. The paper applies the questionnaire research method by collecting data through the questionnaire survey from299 questionnaires have been used and the statistics were collected through SPSS and Amos17.0 software. Research has shown that internal Social capital of top management has positive effects on enterprise performance, and the influence between structural dimension and enterprise performance is more important than the others;strategic flexibility has positive effects on enterprise performance; three aspects of internal social capital of TMT has positive effects on capacity flexibility,structure dimension and relationship dimension have effects on resources flexibility;resource flexibility has partial intermediary effect on the relationship between structure dimension and enterprise performance and the relationship between relationship dimension and enterprise performance;capacity flexibility has partial intermediary effect on the relationship between internal social capital of the members in top management team and enterprise performance.Scientific-oriented small and mid-sized enterprises are an important support of economic development in our country, we can provide reference value about how they use internal Social capital of top management to improve enterprise performance in this paper. The members of top management team can enhance their trust and strengthen exchanges the smooth general characteristic and cognitive consistency. Besides, it also benefits improving the ability of adjusting resource and exploring resource, makes a scientific strategy to cope with external dynamic environment, which is of great significance for the improvement of enterprise competitive advantage.
