Inventory management is a very important part of logistics management in the enterprise, inventory management level directly affect the comprehensive strength of an enterprise. As the link of enterprise and customers, the management of after-sale parts directly affects the level of customer service, so in the automobile manufacturing enterprise, the inventory management of after-sale parts is significant. Due to the variety and volatility of after-sale parts, and it is very susceptible to the market, the inventory management of after-sale parts is very difficult and at the same time, it is a key of enterprise competitiveness.Based on the inventory management of after-sale parts, this paper analyzes the concept, types and characteristics of spare parts and after-sale parts in the automobile manufacturing industry, research the main contents and methods of inventory management theory. Take the automobile manufacturing enterprise B as an example, through analysis of the current inventory management situation of after-sale parts in automobile manufacturing enterprise B, this paper pointed out the key problems of the inventory management, namely the lack of classification of inventory management, the inventory process is unreasonable, information communication is not smoothly, the lack of autonomy of purchasing management. Then in order to optimize the inventory management of enterprise B, at first, this paper choose the lead time and demand value as two factors to classify the spare parts after analyzing the related factors that affecting the inventory management, then sort them into three categories according to their own characteristics and take different order strategy respectively, including continuous check (Q,R),periodic check(T,S) and (T,s,S).Next, we plan and design afresh in allusion to the inventory management process, in view of the sharing of information, advice to establish RDC-centered integrate information system and carry on a simple presentation with UML modeling software. Finally, this paper put forward some advice about autonomy of purchasing and flattening of management organization for enterpeise.
