ABSTRACT:The construction and operation of civil engineering is one of the largest resource-consuming human activities. As a new mode of construction method, building industrialization can reduce the dependence on labor force, consumption of energy and natural resources as well as environment pollution. It can also improve the efficiency and quality of construction and promote transformation and upgrading of building industry. However, research on the assessment of industrialized building has just started in China. There are few researches on the assessment of sustainability and social benefit. Therefore, social impact assessment of industrialized building is conducted based on the method of Social Life Cycle Assessment in this paper, and result is analyzed to investigate important variables and composition of social impact.The main contents of this paper include:(1) Based on S-LCA technology framework, a life cycle social impact quantitative analysis model of Chinese industrialized building has been proposed. Based on the situation of China, this paper builds 25 subcategories and explores comprehensive and quantitative evaluation of industrialized building social impact.(2) A case study of social life cycle assessment of industrialized building was conducted. Four aspects were considered:resource, material, precast component and on-site construction. Stakeholders’contributions to final score were studied through the breakdown analysis of final score.(3) The provinces that produce material and precast components and the industrialized measures were taken as sensitive factors to conduct sensitivity analysis. The results show that the final score of industrialized building’s social impact will increase when its material and components are provided by provinces whose indicator values are higher. The conduction of industrialized measures can improve building’s social impact. The social impacts on building construction has great improvement when using pre-mixed mortar, pre-mixed concrete and other industrialized product.
