With the new generation employees gradually coming into the workplace and becoming the main force, they’re adding new thoughts to the workplace as well as new management challenges. The new generation staff grew up in a unique background, with different ideas and requirements. So they tend to show different attitudes and engagement standard from the older employees when working in the same business environment. The information technology industry, has a huge demand for the new generation employees and attaches great importance to human resource management. In recent years, the high and new technology industry, represented by Internet company, is rapidly developing and an increasing demand of talent. And the information technology industry is facing a serious management problem of the new generation employee’s high turnover rate. My research focus on the issue that how to manage this unique group to raise their work engagement, so that they’re willing to stay in the enterprise and work hard.My research focus on the relationship between work experience and engagement of the new generation employees. The purpose is to explore what work experience dimensions are in line with the new generation’s common needs, so that it results in higher engagement. Work experience in this paper, is divided into six dimensions, which are management style, enterprise strength, work content, compensation and benefits, teamwork and career development. Work engagement can be divided into three dimensions, which are to say, to stay and to strive. The research is done with questionnaire investigation and statistical analysis. I hope to find out which work experience dimensions has a significant effect on engagement. I have done study of the whole industry before. But this time considering industry characteristics, I did research focus on the information technology industry. And I will compare the result of the information technology industry with the whole industry.Results show that the new generation of information technology industry has lower level of work engagement. Work content, enterprise strength, management style and compensation & benefits have significant positive effect on engagement. Enterprises should pay attention to these four aspects to promote the new generation of employee engagement.
