By the end of 2014, China’ s expressway mileage of 111,900 kilometers, ranking first in the world. The rapid development of expressway drives the development of expressway service area. By the end of 2014, the number of the national expressway service area has reached nearly 2000. Service area not only ensures the safety, convenience and comfort, but also reflects the service ability and management level of the highway. There is a significant correlation between the management mode and the operation effect of the expressway service area, and it is important to select the appropriate management mode and innovate the improvement.This paper studies the management mode and characteristics of the expressway service area in Guangdong, Shandong, Jiangxi and in the United States, South Korea, France, etc.. The management mode and existing problems of Henan expressway service area are analyzed. Three kinds of management modes are summarized, which are the outsourcing, the self-management and the integration of the two modes. With the new requirements of our country,and public expectations of service areas, extend out of the relationship between the management mode and the management effect and the main variables that affect the mode choice, and strive to design suitable for the Henan expressway service area management mode, that is A+1+Z+T mode. A refers to the superior regulatory body;the public interest is the basic property of the expressway service area, regardless of what kind of business management mode, so service area must accept the supervision of higher authorities, the owners of units and so on. 1 refers to the general operating body; Z is the brand chain stores,which can be its own brand, or the introduction of chain brand. T refers to the brand shop, mainly a certain reputation of the brand in the local. The SWOT analysis method, analyze the feasibility of the model innovation; Henan province expressway service area is in the competition of the industry trend by using five forces model of competition,the innovation management mode.This study has positive practical significance for promoting the management of Henan expressway service area, which has positive practical significance to the integrated management mode, to the integrated operation, fine management, and then to realize the professional management.
