| With the improvement of people’s material and cultural life, social residents spend more and more on Fast Moving Consumer Goods. This phenomenon has led to the rapid development of FMCG industry in recent years. In general, fast moving consumer goods have short life cycle, fast distribution and updating speed, which make FMCG companies must closely follow the rhythm of the market and produce products meet the market trend as soon as possible to get a competitive advantage. So employees working in this industry face relatively greater work intensity and faster pace of work, but whether they can create a good job performance in the high-intensity work environment is extremely important for companies’development. Previous studies showed that work motivation has a positive effect on job performance to some extent, while self-efficacy and job performance of employees presented positive correlation with each other. However, there are few studies focused on certain industry employees concerning the relationship between work motivation, self-efficacy and job performance, but these three variables are inseparable. So the study of the relationship between work motivation, job performance and the moderating effect of self-efficacy focused on FMCG industry employees has important theoretical and practical significance.This paper has created a relationship model between work motivation, self-efficacy and job performance of FMCG industry employees based on previous studies and proposed several hypotheses. Then it designed a questionnaire with reference to relevant mature scales and surveyed FMCG industry employees with it. Finally 211 valid sample data has been collected and analyzed with SPSS 19.0 software. The main conclusions are:(1) FMCG employees’birth year has a significant effect on extrinsic motivation and their position has a significant effect on self-efficacy; (2) FMCG employees’ work motivation and job performance have a significant positive correlation; (3) FMCG employees’self-efficacy and job performance have a significant positive correlation; (4) Self-efficacy plays a moderating role in the positive correlation between work motivation and job performance.Through the review and discussion of research conclusions, the paper has proposed several suggestions for FMCG companies to improve employees’ job performance in the end. It hopes to provide theoretical basis for company and employee’s development. Those suggestions have important practical significance for FMCG company’s human resources management. |
