The Industry Status And Development Countermeasures Of Sweet Corn In Guangdong Province

Guangdong province is the largest sweet corn production in China, The planting area is more than 60% of the total area of the country,is one of the main production and consumption areas in the world. With the development of processing industry, the sweet corn industry of Guangdong province has developed rapidly, has become one of the major advantages of crops in Guangdong province. The industrial development theory was utilized in this study, the research methods of field survey and literature review combined,based on the investigation of related research institutions, enterprises, farmers, consumer,and so on, the current situation of industry of sweet corn in Guangdong province were analyzed. Some problems in the process of production, processing, circulation and consumption were analyzed, some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:Guangdong sweet corn production status was investigated and analyzed in this study.Sweet corn production in Guangdong province maintained a rapid development trend,expanding planting area, the Yuexi area area gradually become the biggest producing area in Guangdong province and other regions to form superior industry belt. Guangdong Province in the country leading breeding technology, more than 90 new varieties approved in Guangdong by 2015. Among the 68% varieties from Guangdong province, the breeding unit including research institutes, universities, enterprises and other seeds. We should continue to strengthen the breeding of heat resistance, cold resistance, high quality and special varieties, in order to achieve annual production, processing, supply and demand,continue to actively promote the standardized cultivation of sweet corn, standardized production technology; to build sweet corn production demonstration area; to develop science and technology training and service. Sweet corn has high economic benefit, the role of value-added processing and export trade is very obvious, after processing can be added more than 1000 yuan per mu, with economic, social and ecological benefits are very good.We should vigorously develop order agriculture, improve the enterprises and farmers risk and benefit with the mechanism, to enhance the farmers’ sweet corn planting enthusiasm and technical level.Guangdong sweet corn processing and sales circulation status quo was investigated in this study. Guangdong province is the country’s largest sweet corn consumption area, Sweet corn as fresh food and consumer products, accounting for about 65% of the amount ofproduction, processing products accounted for about 35%. Sweet corn processing products gradually diversified, consumer demand and export demand increasing. Sweet corn processing industry developed rapidly, and continuously improve the technology of processing capacity, most of the processing enterprises are concentrated in the Huizhou area.Sweet corn sales channels show diversification, From the past 10 years the total market,Guangdong province sweet maize prices showed a rising trend. Anniversary price with seasonal and frequent fluctuations in supply and demand. We should strengthen sweet corn fresh and deep processing technology. The research should strengthen the development and utilization of the nutritive value of the stems and leaves. We should strengthen the construction of cold chain logistics and distribution system, brand cultivation and brand construction. We should focus on nurturing and support in Zhanjiang, Huizhou and Meizhou and other major areas of processing and marketing enterprises, to strengthen the construction of sweet corn producing areas in the wholesale market and marketing network,to strengthen the construction of market information service system,to expand overseas market, exports out of the road.The market demand and consumer behavior characteristics of Guangdong sweet maize products and processed products were investigated in this study. The survey shows that consumers’ gender, age, income, occupation, the taste of products quality, origin,production, commodity, fresh degree, will affect the consumer demand. Consumers for health food, attention to factors of packaging attention, media advertising will affect consumer demand. We should strengthen the technical innovation, strengthen the preservation and processing technology, the research of cold chain transportation and packaging technology, strengthen media propaganda, product differentiation brand,correctly guide the consumer advocate consumption.Guangdong province has a very good development of sweet corn industry production potential and market potential, has the advantage of the industrialization of science and technology and policy advantage. Therefore, to develop advantages of regional development planning, the formation of Guangdong industry with the advantages of sweet corn. We should cultivate and support the development of leading enterprises, helping to guide the farmers’ professional cooperatives, the construction of new agricultural social service system. We should carry out “scientific research + promotion + Association(agricultural cooperatives) + enterprise + base + farmers” mode of operation, promote the planting region, special varieties of standardized production, processing and production of large-scale industrialization, industrialization path of production, processing, sales through-train, promote the production of sweet corn industry, improve the industrialproduction level.
