Coal city is an important part of mining cities, the study of its spatial structure evolution, existing problems, the formation mechanism, can become a unique perspective to study the transformation of coal city and sustainable development. In the systematic research of urban spatial structure of coal city, papers selecting the combination of coal logistics system construction and urban spatial structure:"railway logistics system and spatial structure of coal city".Through the case study on the important coal city of Pingdingshan in central China, combining the construction of coal railway logistics system, the paper includes the following main contents:The general evolution law of coal city spatial structure. By structural elements of urban spatial analysis and combing, extraction most important factors of the spatial structure, combined with the special nature of the coal resource-based cities spatial structure, explore the impact of special elements of its spatial structure. And summarize coal resource-based cities spatial structure types and characteristics accordinglyThe construction law of coal railway logistics system. The paper analyzes the constituent elements, system complexity and dynamic characteristics as well as the function and role of the coal logistics system. Classifies the determining factors which affecting the development of coal railway logistics system, analysis the spatial layout of coal railway logistics system, evolution and trends of the railway logistics system’s construction.Characteristics of spatial structure evolution of Pingdingshan city. Basis on current situation investigation of space layout of Pingdingshan city, paper explored the influence on urban spatial structure of Pingdingshan city by study the construction of socio-economic development, central city, new urban areas. Through morphological analysis and Research on urban sites, use the data of railway construction and land use in Pingdingshan city, draw lessons from relevant research of compact land use degree index, the quantitative formula of land use fragmentation degree is obtained used to compare the degree of urban land fragmentation before and after the construction of railway construction..The research on the system dynamics model. Through processing of Pingdingshan city economy, population and railway construction data statistics, analysis of the correlation between elements, then use system dynamics method to study the influence of coal railway logistics infrastructure construction on the spatial structure evolution. And in view of the spatial layout of Pingdingshan, the relevant countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.Through the analysis of the model simulation results, the railway coal logistics infrastructure construction to promote urban economic development and land expansion. At the same time, it of urban land with segmentation effect, caused by urban land fragmentation and dispersion of the urban spatial structure. It is also proved that it is feasible to use the system dynamics model to study the spatial structure of the coal city.
