Research On Influential Factors Of Rural Tourism Professional Cooperatives’ Governance Mechanism

The rural tourism professional cooperative is a new phenomenon of the development of rural tourism, which is an economic organization of mutual assistance, realizing voluntary and mutual benefit and democratic management for farmers. The cooperative plays an important role in integrating tourism resources’development, perfecting tourism supporting services, enhancing the level of rural tourism’s development and promoting the development of regional economy. At present, because of the vulnerable industry foundation of rural tourism and the immature development environment of rural tourism professional cooperatives, cooperatives gradually emerge some problems. However, the governance mechanism is an important institutional guarantee to ensure sustainable and healthy operation of cooperatives. This paper aims at studying the influential factors of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism to promote the progress of cooperatives’ governance and achieve the transformation and upgrading of rural tourism. Currently, academic circles are still lack of systematic research on cooperatives’ governance mechanism and its influential factors. Therefore, the discussion will be a meaningful attempt, which can provide referential value for the construction of rural tourism professional cooperatives.This study combs concepts of the cooperative, rural tourism professional cooperative and governance mechanism through literature analysis, and then systematically masters research developments of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism. On that basis, the researcher carries out case investigation, adopts depth interview method to obtain the information of governance mechanism, and next combs the decision-making mechanism, supervisory mechanism, incentive mechanism, capital structure, profit distribution, and service management mechanism. In order to comprehensively study the influential factors of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism, this paper processes the interview data according to grounded theory paradigm strictly, and the decoding analysis is as follows. First of all, it is concluded that 42 concepts affect governance mechanism through the initial stage of open decoding, and then get 14 categories reflecting the essential characteristics of governance mechanism by categorization phase. Secondly,4 main categories are developed by paradigm model in the process of axial decoding, namely members’ self-development, leaders’ traits exerting, government’s role playing and tourism development improving. Finally, we do selective decoding for the main categories. Through repeated and textual study, decide to use subjective initiative, government power and tourism development to dominate other categories. After the three-stage decoding process of grounded theory, this paper identifies the influential factors of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism:(1) Subjective initiative is the inner driving factor of governance mechanism; (2) Government power is an external factor of governance mechanism; (3) Tourism development is a dynamic process of ascension for governance mechanism. And then, this paper proposes related strategies to promote the effective governance of cooperatives.The innovation points of this paper are as follows:(1) The research problem is about influential factors of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism. The paper topic is innovative under the circumstances of the lack research results of rural tourism professional cooperatives’ governance mechanism and its influential factors.(2) The research object is Fanggan rural tourism professional cooperative, the first one in Shandong Province. The cooperative has achieved a certain success in its governance process. Thus, researching on governance mechanism and its influential factors will provide guiding significance for the construction of cooperatives.(3) This paper adopts grounded theory to study the influential factors of governance mechanism, which can put forward a more completely theoretical framework to explain cooperatives’ governance practice, and promote the good development of cooperatives.
