The industry of electronic commerce is developing rapidly, which has greatly promoted the industry of express delivery. However, the defect and imperfection of express delivery industry has exposed gradually behind the prosperity of the industry, making the link of distributing packages directly to guests face many challenges. Express cabinet is arising under such a background, and it will be the key to settle the tough problem of how to realize the last distribution of express delivery. The exploration of proper and scientific method and model for choosing sites for express cabinets is profoundly significant for the solutions to problems of the last distribution, the reform in the distribution mode of express delivery, the improvement in service quality and the benefit of express companies, etc.Firstly, this paper analyzes the status of the industry of express delivery and express cabinets, along with the present domestic and international research about the site selection for express cabinet, to indicate the importance of express cabinet to solve the problem of last distribution and state the significance of exploring method for choosing sites for express cabinets. After that,this paper will introduce some theories and methods on how to optimization site selection,then,combined with the characteristics of express cabinet,this paper builds two-level optimization model based on Set Covering Location and AHP, which theoretically optimizes the problems of site selection for express cabinets. The object of empirical research in this paper is the Tunxi road campus of the Hefei University of Technology.Through the investigation of empirical study region,this paper analyzes the status of last distribution of this region,in order to analyze the reasonability and practicability of express cabinets which have been chosen in this paper.With the use of computer programs such as LINGO and MATLAB to simplify the calculation, this paper theoretically obtains the best option for the location of express cabinets.
