Taking north of the Korean peninsula as research area, based on 1 910’s hand-painted 1:50000 topographic map data and the classificati on standard, the land use data and social environment data of north o f the Korean peninsula in 1910’s have been extracted using ARCGIS so ftware, and database Geodatabase has been established. Based on the r elated theoretical basis, using various mathematical models, ARCGIS s oftware and Excel, the data correlation analysis has been studies.Ba sed on the land use data, land use types, distribution, and landscape index, etc. of the north of the Korean peninsula have been analyzed in the aspect of land use numerical structure and spatial pattern; Ba sed on social environment data, cities, population, and transportatio n, etc. have been analyzed. Then 12 areas of the north of the Korean peninsula has been carried on the comparison analysis. The results ar e as following:The land use status of north of the Korean peninsula represents t he situation that:on habitation, the northeast and southwest outnumb er north southeast; on farming land, central and southwest outnumber north southeast; Orchards are mainly distributed in Hwanghaenam-do, Ji angYuandao and Hwanghaebuk-do; forest lands are mainly distributed in northeas and its distribution is relatively uniform; grass lands are mainly distributed in the central area, eastern and southeast; inlan d wetlands are mainly distributed in the center, west and northeast; coastal wetlands are mainly distributed in other areas along the coas t of the west, for example Hwanghaenam-do, Huangpu City, P’yonganbuk-do and P’yongannam-do, and few coastal wetlands are distributed the e ast zone along the coast; bare lands are mainly distributed in Hamgyo ngbuk-do and Hwanghaenam-do; inland waters are mainly distributed in the central region; salt fields are mainly distributed in huangpu cit y, P’ yongannam-do, P’ yonganbuk-do and Hamgy6ngnam-do, and it is not pat ently distributed in other regions; evergreen trees are mainly distri buted in the central and southwest. In 12 areas of the north of Korean peninsula, HuangPu City has mo st abundant and most evenly distribution land use, and has the combin ation of land use types of other grass and farming land and coastal w etland;Chagang-do and Yanggang-do have relatively not rich land use t ypes but relatively uniformly distribution, and have the combination of land use types of forest land; Hwanghaenam-do has relatively abund ant land use types, and has the combination of land use types for oth er grass and forest land and farming land; Pyongyang has relatively r ich land use type and uniform distribution, and has the combination o f land use types of forest land and evergreen trees and other grass; P’yongannam-do, Hwanghaebuk-do, P’ yonganbuk-do, JiangYuandao, Hamgyon gnam-do and Hamgyongbuk-do, these six regions have relatively less ab undant land use types and uneven distribution, and the combination of land use types of forest land and other grass; Rason City has relati vely not rich land use types but uniform distribution, and the combin ation of land use types of other grass and forest land. The distribution state of residential area of the north of Korean peninsula is agglomerated, and the residential areas’growth along t he 200 m of drainage radius and the 100 m of road radius is largest. The forecast population size of 287100, is in line with the actual si tuation. Population distribution represents that concentration degree is relatively low, and distribution is relatively unbalanced, at the same time population distribution shows significant positive correla tion with space. In 12 areas of the north of Korean peninsula, the di stribution state of residential area of Yanggang-do is most clustered, and P’yonganbuk-do is most scattered. The population size of Yanggan g-do, Rason City, HuangPu City and Pyongyang city are relatively smal 1, while the population size of Chagang-do, Hamgyongbuk-do, Hamgyongn am-do and JiangYuandao are larger. P’ y6nganbuk-do has the largest pop ulation and the Rason City has the smallest.Levels of roads in the north of the Korean peninsula can be divid ed into two categories, railway and highway. The length of railway is 1051.37 km, while the highway crosses the length of 62078.06 km, and the road network density is 0.52 km/km2. In 12 areas of the north of K orean peninsula, the level size of road of Chagang-do, Yanggang-do, H amgyongbuk-do, and Hamgyongnam-do is relatively lower, while the leve 1 size of road of P’ yongannam-do, P’yonganbuk-do, Rason City, Hwangha enam-do, Hwanghaebuk-do and JiangYuandao are relatively inter-mediate d, and the level size of road of HuangPu City and Pyongyang city is r elatively large. Under the condition of the same driving speed, the t raffic accessibility of HuangPu City, and Pyongyang city is much bett er, and Pyongyang is best; the traffic accessibility of P’ yonganbuk-d o, P’yongannam-do, Hamgyongbuk-do, Hamgyongnam-do, Rason City, Hwangh aenam-do, Hwanghaebuk-do and JiangYuandao is relatively better;and th e traffic accessibility of Chagang-do and Yanggang-do is worse, and Ch agang-do is worst.
