The Improvement Of G Company’s Inventory Management

Textile industry of china has been participated in the fierce competition of the world market since China entered WTO. More and more enterprises have to face the pressure which comes from quality, cost, delivery and so on. The competition between enterprises has become the competence of supply chain management. If enterprise wants to maintain a competitive advantage in market, it needs not only to meet the demand with quick response but also the effective control of inventory and cost down of operation. With drawing on the experience of other enterprises, using advanced inventory management method to control inventory and reduce the cost, so as to make the enterprise in a strong position in the market.The article takes textile company G as the research object. The thesis mainly including: First, to introduce the background of the thesis and summarize the research situation. Second, elaborate theories and methods of inventory management and supply chain inventory control. Third, to analyze the inventory management situation and existing problems of G company. Then, to introduce the planning and implementation of improvements of inventory management in G company, and evaluating the expected achievement. Finally, review and summarize the research of thesis and lead the direction of further studies.The article focuses on solving the problem of inventory management in G company with using the theories and the analysis for actual situation of the company. The solutions including appropriate method of demand forecasting, vendor managed inventory (VMI), just in time (JIT) and barcode system. Those will help to reduce the inventory and improve the performance in inventory turnover and warehouse management. And also the research will be a good reference in improvement of inventory management for other manufacturing enterprises.
