Study On The Relationship Between Herdsmen’s Livelihood Capital And Livelihood Strategy

In terms of China’s national conditions, China is a agricultural country, and animal husbandry, agriculture, rural areas and farmers is the core of China’s problems, and the development of the three animal husbandry is also in urgent need of attention.This paper firstly combed the research progress of sustainable livelihoods in NongMuHu, determined the research train of thought and main content of this article, analysis on the theory of sustainable livelihood framework, participatory research as the main means, herders’ livelihood capital and the relationship between the livelihood strategies for research. This paper takes Xilin Gol League(minority) hub and animal husbandry is the main industry area as an example. Extract combining and west Ujimqin pastoral area as the research area, the household survey. Based on the methods of questionnaire investigation and statistics, combining and west Ujimqin herdsman livelihood capital for qualitative and quantitative evaluation, descriptive analysis and empirical analysis, reveals the herdsmen livelihood capital and the relationship between the livelihood strategies, to explore and summarize the nomads living situation, and put forward policy recommendations on this basis.In this paper, research has shown that:1) the herders in the study area of society and human assets stock is higher, and has important influence on herdsmen livelihood strategy choice type. But natural capital stock is not obvious, it is due to the actual situation in the study area; 2) description statistics show:material capital and human capital in the study area average livelihood capital is high, the financial capital livelihood capital mean after material and social capital. Model results show that:human capital, financial capital and social capital in a total of six index significantly, has rich human assets, financial assets and social assets herdsman type tend to various livelihood strategies, and material and abundant natural assets herdsman tend to be more willing to from choose pure pastoral livelihoods strategy; 3) as the change of society and the environment, the study area herdsman way of living is changing, and the present situation of the livelihood of herders in the studied area was described; 4) nomads living there are still some problems, especially the nomads animal husbandry income drops, infrastructure construction is not perfect, etc. Based on the previous research conclusion, put forward from the perspective of sustainable livelihoods improve herdsmen livelihoods and the herdsmen income approach in the study area and the suggestion.
