The Chinese first "slow city" Gaochun District, has attracted myriads of tourists since the "Yaxi ecological tour" started. The city proposing the conceptions of "slow city movement", "slow life", "slow travel" caused widespread concerns, reflecting the change of people’s demand for tourism. Therefore, "slow city movement" or "slow travel" will be the new power promoting the traditional tourism.Here, we described the definition and development of slow city, and summarized recent researches referring "slow city", even more, we deeply studied cases successfully building the slow city. Based on those, the program making the city "Yuhu town" to be the slow city was carried out. First, we pointed the destination and realistic significance of the program depending on the political background and district advantage of Yuhu town. Secondly, we conducted SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and concluded the feasibility and practicality of the program. Furthermore, guided by the international advanced concept of slow city, we used a combination of tourism resources optimization and management, and established Yuhu as a small continent-style town in general. This town will qualify the tourism standard of slow city, including regimen, elderly-maintenance, agriculture, traveling, eating and shopping. Finally, depicting "how the project undertaking" time in time, we will make the plan in future.This paper deeply shows the famous hometown of overseas Chinese Yuhu having special pastoral pattern, traditional cultural resource, "overseas Chinese" characteristic site. All of above denoted the multiple possibility of the town to be the "slow city". Based on the green and ecology, we will create Yuhu as a slow city by proceeding along a sustainable development path, and provide a new concept and a new development model for exploring Chinese small and medium towns to be "slow cities".
