An Empirical Study Of Influence Of TMT Characteristics Intergrating Social Capital On Technological Innovation Of Enterprises

Innovation is the fundamental guarantee for the sustainable development of enterprises. With the shorten iteration cycle in today’s technology and the competitive market environment, enterprises need to seek innovation in order to gain a competitive advantage, to promote their own development. The enterprise is a principal part to create an innovation country, its innovation capability determines the competitive strength in the overall national level. Under the current environment of developing strategic emerging industries to build a creative country, as the main body of innovation, enterprises should also need to improve their ability to innovate. Technological innovation activities cannot do without the formulation and implementation of innovation strategy, and the TMT characters would produce different influence on decision makers when they making decisions such as knowledge background, cognitive concepts psychological characteristics, social contact and so on, and then affects the technology innovation of enterprises. In light of this, it is very important to study the influence of TMT characteristics technological innovation of enterprises for improving the enterprise technology innovation, promoting the construction of our innovative country.Starting from the combination of static and dynamic prospective, this paper studies TMT demographic background characteristics and social capital characteristics, the two different aspects of TMT background characteristics to explore the impact on technological innovation of enterprises. This paper collects the data from listed Chinese IT corporations. The results show that TMT’s average age has significant negative impact on R&D input. The proportion of women in TMT has almost no influence on enterprise R&D input. The education level of TMT has significant positive impact on technological innovation of enterprise. R&D input correlates positively with TMT’s social capital. Therefore, in order to promote enterprise technological innovation, improve the R&D input degree, it is important to optimize the structure of the top management team with the action of continuously improving the social capital level of top management team.
