Caofeidian port is one of the main coal terminal in the coal transportation system in China. With water demand increasing in recent years, to solve the contradiction between pier capacity and water demand, Caofeidian port actively construct new pier. The 3th pier invested by China huaneng group is in construction, the design capacity is 50 million tons which is a large coal terminal.Coal terminal as a whole, coal terminal yard is one of the key steps in the coal terminal operation, the operation efficiency of high and low and pier is closely related to the overall working efficiency of high and low, yard operation link is the key link of the terminal operation, and is to address the problems exist in the process of coal terminal production operation of the main ways and means. In this context, it is necessary for coal terminal yard management and optimization design of study in huaneng caofeidian port, put forward reasonable yard optimized design scheme.On the basis of relevant theories, with natural geography, the necessary conditions for caofeidian port and huaneng group, first of all, to forecast the throughput of coal terminal in caofeidian port, and analyzed the influence of the future throughput of wharf yard operation; Secondly analyzes the coal terminal yard operation management present situation and existing problems in caofeidian port; Again, aiming at the existing problem of caofeidian port coal terminal yard management yard operation model is set up; Finally puts forward huaneng caofeidian coal terminal yard management and optimization countermeasures and Suggestions.In this paper, the first concrete method is a combination with theory and practice, using the information network, library research and the method of combining the field survey, widely collected data. The second is the comprehensive study and focus on analysis, a comprehensive study of the national coal transportation present situation, and focuses on analyzing current situation of the development of caofeidian port and transport demand. The third is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, build for cargo throughput forecast model; Construction yard operation optimization model of quantitative analysis.based on the point of system, by adopting the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods.
