The express delivery in a local city is one of the hard-core businesses in Chinese various major express delivery services. In the express delivery industry, it is also a relatively profitable method to convey both information and goods. Because of the constant rise of on-line sale and the continuous expansion of the mode of O2O, the requirement for the express delivery in a local city is also skyrocketing. As a result, the potential of it is remarkably promising, while it also faces many challenges and chances. However, most of the express companies only pay attention to the construction of the macro delivery system, but they fail to focus on the last-one-kilometer delivery which faces the clients directly.In the express delivery industry, the last-one-kilometer delivery influences greatly how a client will comment on an express company. Nevertheless, due to the limit of current situation (numerous delivery goods, high delivery frequency), the last-one-kilometer delivery suffers from the greatest difficulty and pressure. Therefore, it is both crucial and meaningful for the express delivery industry in China, especially for the express delivery in a local city, to innovate the mode and improve the quality of the last-one-kilometer delivery.This paper at first makes a generalization about the relative theories concerning the express companies and their business mode, constructing the theory basis. Then, in the third chapter, this paper gives a conclusion about both the development of the express delivery in a local city in China and its profiting mode in foreign countries. In the fourth chapter, this paper shows an analysis about the requirements and values of the clients in the express delivery industry. and on the basis of which the fifth chapter comes up with the new way for the express delivery in a local city and analyzes a case about the business operation of intelligent domestic parcel in a domestic express company, X.
