Food is the material foundation to the survival of humans. Food quality and safety situation is a reflection of a nation’s economic development level and an important indicator of the level of quality of people life. From the affair of Sudan, melamine, plasticizer and Fuxi, in recent years the food quality and safety broke out frequently. It was touched in the heart of the enterprise, consumer and government supervision departments. Why so many well-known brands have trouble in quality and safety? The answer is clear. The source of supply chain – the quality management of the suppliers have problems. The supplier plays a very important role in the development of enterprise. Especially at present, China’s food industry level is not high. The quality management of food raw material supplier is difficult. The source intensity of quality and safety management needs to deepen.K Company was engaged in an herbal health product development, production and sales of large-scale Hong Kong direct selling enterprises. It is facing the strong competitive pressure from the potential competitors and industry competitors. K Company required from the supplier management to survive and develop in an increasingly competitive environment. To raising the quality level is guaranteed the quality of raw materials meet the industry’s own product quality requirements in order to develop in the fierce competition.This article subject is from K Company. It is based on the background of the importance of food quality and safety and focusing on the optimization of food raw materials supplier quality management methods. First reviewed supply chain management, quality management, supplier quality management and performance evaluation that is related the route of theory and research. Then it will be introduced the supplier quality management status and described exists of problem from K Company. through Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, and PEST analysis, export k company suppliers quality management strategy concern points; and through fishbone diagram, and line figure, histogram and the SPC on suppliers quality management exists of problem for analysis diagnosis; again combined suppliers a,b,and c classification, Supplier quality development(such as the second party audit), the quality of performance evaluation method of analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to optimize the existingprocess analysis, and optimization of supplierquality management programmes; Finally, t he optimization scheme describesthe implementation, and new practice evaluation ofthe effe ct of supplierquality management process.The research is from the practice. Through the optimized of supplier quality management methods and combined with team building, systems support, quality information system(QMS) and personnel training to make the K company improve the quality grading rate of suppliers, qualified rate of arrival and customer complaint rate.
