With the rapid growth of world economic integration and the advent of the era of knowledge economy, more and more manufacturing enterprises starts to transfer the production line to developing countries, so China becomes the "world factory" under this trend. But in recent years, China’s manufacturing industry is facing some unprecedented challenges, especially the pricing keeps increasing in raw material, the RMB appreciation, rising labor costs and other factors, profit margin is decreased a lot. Under such an increasingly competitive environment, it becomes an inevitable topic on how to use the resources more efficiently, companies are trying a variety of efforts to improve the competitiveness, such as reduce manufacturing expense and control operating costs, so to gain more profit.Lean production represents just in time, eliminate the fault and remove all the waste(manpower and material resources, time and space), zero defects, less inventory. Lean production is a kind of production system encourages changes, to ensure the organization can be more successful and profitable. It is also a kind of culture. It is a process to pursuit perfection, also a process to pursuit excellence.Today, with the intensification of market competition and the rapid growth of world economy, the market need is changing from "Mass production" to "Many varieties, little batch", more and more business operators notices the situation and seeking for deep reform. It is a trend to change from the traditional manufacture system to lean enterprise.In this paper, I will review the background of lean production, to study the relevant theory and research at home and abroad. And to take C enterprise as the research entity, to show how the company is performing to change systematically from the fundamental, and to be more efficient in cost control and quality improvement. By comparing the changes happened in C enterprise, to further illustrate the benefits of lean production. Hope this research can be helpful for other enterprise who wants to learn lean production.
