Jiangxi Development Of Mineral Resources Industry Research On The Perspective Of Resource Curse

Jiangxi is located in the southeast of China, with abundant mineral resources. The national economic development has a significant impact on mineral products, Jiangxi province has 45 kinds of 36 and has proven row in the first place there are 10 kinds of. With the development of economy, mining has become the pillar industry of national economy of Jiangxi Province. Since 2007, mining companies industrial output reached more than 50 percent of the province’s total industrial output value. In recent years, many research has showed that the abundant natural resources will not bring the fast economic growth, especially the resource oriented countries had confirm. Scholars had called it resource curse. Mineral resources has a very important impact on energy security, coordinated regional economic development and social stability. If disadvantages for mineral resources development, it will limit to regional economic development and bring to serious consequences.This article focuses on whether there is a resource curse in Jiangxi.This paper has three main parts. The first part introduces that development of mineral resources industry and existing problems at Jiangxi Province. The second part from ten strategic emerging industries and hundred companies and tax revenue and coefficient of elasticity to explore the dependence of mineral resources industry. The last part has three step. First step is constructing mining industry output value accounted for the ratio of GDP index. Second part verify the existence of "resource curse" effect in Jiangxi Province. Third step find out the cause of the "resource curse" effect and put forward some suggestions.Through analysis, we found that mineral resources has a great contribution to the economy. And when the resources are exhausted, this dependence is easy to fall into the trap of resources. Through the data analysis, we found that the development of mineral resources industry has restricted the economic development to a certain extent. There is a “resource curse” in Jiangxi province.
