Study On The Influences Of Producer Services On Upgrading The Structure Of Manufacturing Industry In Chongqing

In recent years, western countries have put forward strategies of the "re-industrialization”, “industrial 4.0", etc. To promote manufacturing industry to boost the entity economy, which indicates the manufacture is of great strategic significance. A country’s manufacturing capability represents the country’s innovation capability. At present, the manufacturing industry in China is being squeezed, because some high-end manufacturing return to the developed countries, and some labour-intensive manufacturing transfer to the developing countries with lower labor cost and business cost. Therefore, in order to achieve manufacturing renaissance, the national strategy of "Made in China" 2025 "has been formulated. The transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry is the key of international competition. On the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, by analyzing the development regulation at home and abroad, economists have considered that increasing the service inputs which include product development, design, logistics and business services is the key to improve the production efficiency and output levels, to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing industry and to optimizing the industrial structure. Chongqing, for its special geographical location and resource endowment, needs to depend on the development of the manufacturing industry to promote the sustainable and high economic growth. Therefore, the study on the effect of producer services to upgrade the structure of industry in Chongqing is of great significance.This thesis aims at exploring the effect and the impact of producer services to upgrade the structure of manufacturing industry in Chongqing, and then raises policy suggestions for upgrading the manufacturing structure. The major content of this thesis contains the following :(1) Theoretical analysis of producer services to upgrade the structure of manufacturing industry: reviewing literature; building a theoretical framework of producer services to upgrade the structure of manufacturing industry by making reference of related theories; and analyzing the impact of producer services to the upgrading of the manufacturing industry;(2)The descriptive statistics analysis of the producer services and manufacturing industry in Chongqing. For producer services, we first analyze the overall development of producer services in Chongqing, and then describe the status of producer services sectors; For manufacturing industry, we first analyze its scale of development, and then describes its present structure from four aspects: manufacturing, technology, labour and assets.(3) The empirical study: by constructing index of the industrial structure supererogation and the industrial structure rationalization to quantify the variation degree of the structure of manufacturing industry, and using panel data for quantitative analysis of producer services to upgrade the structure of manufacturing industry, we definite the quantitative relation between producer services and manufacturing industry structure.This thesis draws the following conclusions:(1) Chongqing is now at a relatively low level of development of producer services. Producer service in Chongqing develops very slowly and its support effect is not strong. Its share of production in the tertiary industry, as well as the ratio of the region’s economic output have not markedly increased in the past 10 years.(2) The upgrading of the structure of Chongqing’s manufacturing industry is not enough. The optimization degree of Chongqing’s manufacturing including output value structure, technical structure, structure of the labour force and property structure is not high enough.(3) The producer service in Chongqing has a significant positive effect on upgrading the structure of manufacturing industry, although the impact is small. The output elasticity of producer services on the rationalization of manufacturing structure is 0.005451, which means whenever the added value of producer service increases 1, it will improve the degree of he industrial structure rationalization 0.005451; The Chognqing producer service has a significant positive impact on the industrial structure supererogation. The output elasticity of producer services on the supererogation of manufacturing structure is 0.046178,which means whenever the added value of producer service increases 1, it will improve the degree of he industrial structure supererogation0.046178.This thesis puts forward some suggestions:(1)Establish the modern industrial system and optimize the industrial distribution to promote the development of producer services.(2) Accelerate the transformation of traditional manufacturing industries and promote the development of manufacturing services to speed up the upgrading of structure of manufacturing industry and optimize industrial manufacturing structure.(3) Speed up the enterprise reform and build a platform system to promote the coordinated development of manufacturing and production service and realize the optimization of the industrial distribution.
