With the sharp development of social economic and the acceleration of urbanization, the garbage which human produced in our daily life is increasing quickly. The best way to deal with the problem is Waste recycling. First of all, we should sort the garbage. So the study of city life garbage separation technology has a realistic significance. The separation technology and equipment of horizontal airflow winnowing machine was researched in this paper. And a new model of post type horizontal airflow winnowing machine was put forward. This opens up a new train of thought of study of city life garbage separation technology.CFD software Fluent was used to study the changing rule of the internal flow of post type horizontal airflow winnowing machine in this paper. Gas-solid two phase flow control equations was established and the equations was closed. The establishment, meshing, boundary conditions, calculation model and setting of the solving method of the numerical model of the Winnowing machine was introduced. The DPM was used to Numerical simulate the gas-solid two phase flow which was existed in the Winnowing machine. Simulation results show that the new post type horizontal airflow winnowing machine is good for the separation of waste particles. Under the same inlet boundary conditions, The separation efficiency of different diameter of the waste particles was simulated. Thus it is concluded that the best diameter of waste particles which is suitable for the model. For the same garbage grain diameter, different inlet velocity was also simulated. And thus the best wind speed of The garbage sorting model was come out.
