Pipeline is the transportation that it transports liquid and gas to another place. It's not only continuous, rapidly, safety, stable, but also less investment, less land occupation, low cost. At the same time, natural gas as the clean energy is small density, large volume, and compressible. Therefore, pipeline transportation is almost the only way which can transport natural gas to the faraway. The long-distance pipeline mostly cross the severe environment and sparsely populated area. In order to ensure the pipeline's safety and efficient, the long-distance gas pipeline must be automatic controlled.In this paper, the pipeline is wide across the region. We adopt SCADA system to centralized control. According to the long-distance pipeline's auto-control system design, this project mainly discussed as follows:Firstly, to increase the reliability of the system, we constructed the system communication network and integrated more complicated control systems in the same station. The project has adopted main/standby communications. Optical fiber network is built for the construction of the main communication mode. The standby use the public network, that are not covered by the public network, using a dedicated satellite communication channel.Secondly, According to the technical requirements of the station, the design of the control scheme is carried out in the typical functional departments. Due to the long distance pipeline most station are jointly built, the compressor need to network operation, the load distribution is the new problem which the compressor control procedures need must to be faced. This chapter proposed compression unit running on a network load distribution control scheme, and set the surge control system.Thirdly, we put the safety instrument system into SCADA, so that the project can be safety shutdown in the state of emergency. Emergency stop system can monitor the occurrence of the production process or the hidden danger, issued a warning message or directly execute the scheduled program, immediately into the operation, to prevent the occurrence of accidents, reduce the harm caused by the accident and its impact. Venting system which it is used the PHAST 6.53 software simulated the gas diffusion and thermal radiation. According to the simulation results, we designed the venting system of the station and valve chamber.
