In recent years the rapid extension of urban space, the urbanization level increased significantly, but this kind of "land finance" and rapid urbanization development pattern of industrial changes into the core power in promoting rapid and continuous development of national economy at the same time, also brought great pressure to the ecological environment. On this background, the party's 18th explicitly put forward the concept of "new type of urbanization", compared with the traditional urbanization, new type of urbanization in the mode of thinking, space layout, development has presented new characteristics. Can then, new urbanization in economic development, improve people's living standard and reverse the trend of worsening ecological environment, promoting the ecological environment quality significantly increased?Through the analyzes of the new urbanization where the new,the paper put forward to build the new urbanization index from four dimensions. Then, through spatial autocorrelation test and spatially localized LISA,we confirmed the new urbanization and ecological environment quality have obvious spatial agglomeration and spatial spillover effect. Then, based on the improved STIRPAT model with temporal and spatial factors, we use 284 prefecture level cities in China between 2003-2012, and study the influence mechanism and spatial spillover effect between new-type urbanization and urban Eco-environmental quality. The empirical results show that in China, new-type urbanization and urban Eco-environmental quality have significant spatial interdependence. The new-type urbanization occupies a decisive role in the factors affecting urban Eco-environmental quality, which not only improves the quality of local ecological environment, but also the nearby city through the spatial spillover effect. Due to the space attenuation and regional administrative barriers, the Eco-environmental quality of nearby city has a negative effect on local Eco-environmental quality, which is different from "contaminated local club group phenomenon" on the provincial level. Population urbanization, economic urbanization and spatial urbanization play a negative role on the Eco-environment quality. While steady progress of social urbanization improves its Eco-environmental quality to some extent.
