Because of Schiff base?containing C = N? ease of synthesis, configuration variable,and the metal ions easily combined with other characteristics,they are, in particular, widely used in the chemical field in coordination chemistry for research. A variety of complexes of Schiff base ligands with the lanthanide??? ions and other metal ions can be easily synthesized.The properties of Schiff base complexes can mimic the structural features and biological active sites, so they are widely used in various fields, such as the treatment of cancer,antibacterial agents, antiviral agents, kill fungal agents, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory agents and other applications.This thesis is based on three acyclic ether Schiff base ligand:Bis?3-methoxysalicylidene?-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamine?H2L1?,Bis?5-methylsalicylaldehyde?-3-oxapentane-1,5-Diamine?H2L2?,Bis?N-salicylidene?-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamine?H2L3?. Schiff base ligand reacted with a metal salt,and synthesized five metal complexes,as follows: [Tb2?L2?2?NO3?2]?1?,Eu?L2??NO3??2?, [Dy2?L2??NO3?2]?3?, [Ho?L1??NO3?]?4?, [Cu2?L1?2]?5?,the synthesis of complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-visible spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, X- ray diffraction methods, the results indicate that the complexes of 1,3 is nine-coordinated centrosymmetric binuclear complexes, spatial geometry is a distorted square anti-prism structure. Complex 2 is a mononuclear and nine-coordinated complex, the spatial configuration is distorted single square antiprism structure.Complex 4 is mononuclear and ten-coordinated complex forms a twisted double square antiprism structure.Complex 5 is the center of the five-coordinated symmetrical binuclear complex and forms a tetragonal pyramid structure.By viscosity, UV spectra and fluorescence spectroscopy titration experiments to study the complexes how to bind with DNA and the results showed that DNA is inserted to the complexes. Using Fenton, NBT photopheresis experiments to study the anti-hydroxyl radical and anti-superoxide anion radical activity of complexes. The results imply that the complexes have the preferable ability to scavenge hydroxyl radical?OH·? and superoxide radicals?O2-·?than mannitol and vitamin C.The data of IC50 are all at 10-3 M level for mannitol and vitamin C, the complexes are all at 10-5 M level. The results imply that the complexes have the preferable ability to scavenge hydroxyl radical?OH·? and superoxide radicals?O2-·? than mannitol and vitamin C. Therefore, complexes has potential application value in antioxidantactivity.
