This paper is based on the project of newly increased two 120 t converters in a domestic iron and steel enterprise's steel mill. The project needs to dismantle steel structures of 1~3 plants in original plant building, and new-build steel structures of 1a~3b plants at original location(with the newly built converter's high-rise frame structures), meanwhile reserving two vestibules within ferroalloy feeding system(T) and flux feeding system(R) which are applied to production of No.1 converter. In order to ensure normal production of the plant during technical renovation with taking the mode of reconstructing while producing, ensure personal and structural safety, as well as shortening construction period, a set of the type 3250 heavy support tower, a single portal frame bearing can reach 3250 t(standard knot), is exploited under technical analysis and researches.The technology and potential-digging renovation is superior to the overall environmental relocation and new construction of production line, owing to advantages of less investment and shorter construction period, and also can make the best of existing technical force and management level. After technical renovation, it can realize fast production achievement with energy conservation and environmental protection, and improve the quality of products while greatly reducing construction cost and period. The greatest characteristic of the technical renovation is reinforcement and transformation of the original plant building and existing facilities with reserving parts of facilities due to process changes.According to the characteristics of the engineering transformation, through the analysis and researches, this paper adopts heavy support tower technology, meanwhile use three-dimensional modeling and integrated design and construction operation management of building information model(BIM) technology to solve the cohesion contradiction and collision of standard tower and straight component with the original factory building structure and propylene structure, with reducing the rework and improving the construction efficiency so as to speed up the construction progress. Under the premise of meeting the requirements of the component stress, standard and non-standard of tower section are conducted by optimized analysis and researches, ensuring saving steel cost of the tower, process production transport installation with simple removal to reduce construction cost and shorten the time of installation dismantlement. Based on the stress characteristics of tower, this paper uses the large general software(SAP2000) technology, on the tower's main force bar mechanics model and mechanics analysis, and analysis of the overall stability of the tower.According to the load-bearing characteristics of the tower at the same time, this paper has researched assembled outside the lines, the overall installation of the large steel components.By the application in a steel enterprise, a rapid transformation device of a heavy su pport tower is developed in a heavy industrial plant, which achieves good results in such aspects as safety, economy, construction progress.
