With the development of steam turbine and gas turbine machining technology, the use of material(such as new type heat resistant steel, high temperature alloy, new cast steel and so on) has higher mechanical properties, machinability is worse, and the tool with high reliability, and require different batches of tool products with stable performance, consistency should be higher.This paper to the A880 high-pressure steam turbine moving blade surface machining as the breakthrough point, clear blade machining of the whole process, find out the problems existing in the blade machining, the blade surface rough machining of ball end cutter excessive wear, thus affecting the surface finishing. Through theoretical analysis, finite element numerical simulation of machining the blade surface machining of ball end mill; combination of dynamic simulation and machining test method, focuses on the analysis of the blade surface rough machining of ball end mill of the cutting force, cutting temperature and cutting stress and determine the optimal cutting parameters. Eventually, the firmware blade surface rough machining tool R5 ball end mill wear performance analysis, determine the wear mechanism is abrasive wear, and make life curve, according to the life curve prediction tool safety spent the rest of his life.
