Nowadays, sockets are widely used in electrical transmission control. High-frequency signals(HF signals) scattered around the power networks will be harmful to electrical equipment, especially to some audio supplies' tune; electrical equipment will also generate some harmful electromagnetic wave when they are started up. General sockets cannot eliminate the impact of these signals, but the filter socket can. Especially, the filter sockets can effectively solve problems endangering the security in some special industries. In other hand, the product form design is not independent, manufacturing requirements should be taken into consideration, and otherwise, the problem of repeated modification will arise, influencing the design efficiency. Therefore, while the form of filter socket is designed, the factors of structure and molding process design should be considered fully.Taking the filter socket as the object, this paper studies the appearance design, structure design and molding process parameters of the socket, combined with designing theories for manufacture. Firstly, the basic design of the injection molds and its molding process were summarized. Secondly, the paper did the designing analysis about the manufacturability of filter sockets' sculpts and structures. Then, in order to get reasonable structure design and the value of injection molding process parameters, this paper designed the molding filling, pressure maintaining and cooling process of filter socket in the process of plastic injection, which were analyzed by using the Moldflow next. Finally, test programs were designed and the molding process parameters, such as melt temperature, mold temperature, filling pressure, holding time and screw speed, were optimized by orthogonal method. This study can effectively reduce the warp distortion value and the volume shrinkage rate of the filter socket, guaranteeing high quality of products.The main purpose of this article is to take product manufacture into consideration before designing the product, and comprehensively considering every process from design to manufacture. This design method, providing a reference for product design, not only reduces the frequency of products' defects to ensure successful primary manufacture, but also shortens the period of design and manufacture cycles.
