| With the rapid development and wide application of silicon, germanium, gallium arsenide, sapphires and other precious hard brittle crystal materials, the requirement of the process accuracy keeps increasing. Cutting processing has important influence on the quality and cost control. Diamond wire saw is widely used in cutting hard brittle materials. In this paper, the manufacturing of diamond wire saw with the method of co-depositon is studied. The method of brush plating manufacturing of diamond wire saw is explored and the appearance and cutting ability were evaluated.Research works in this paper are summarized as follows:1) The selection and pretreatment of test materialsThe appropriate substrate material, super-hard abrasives and anode material were chosen. Different pretreatment methods were designed for those materials. The formula of plating solution was chosen.2) The design of the test equipmentA manufacturing experimental equipment for brush plating manufacturing of diamond wire saw was designed including electroplating bath, bath transporter, tension moudel, guide wheels, rotational brush-plating anode and take-up/pay-off moudel, etc. The relationship between bath dispersible uniformity and mixture parameters was researched by using CFD simulation.3) The composite brush plating manufacturing of diamond wire sawThe relationships between electro-plating parameters and coating thickness, coating quality were studied. After that, the law about how the electro-plating parameters inf luenced the distribution density of abrasive on the saw surface was also researched.4) The performance test of diamond wire sawThe surface morphology, mechanical properties and cutting performance of diamond wire saw were examed with a reciprocating cutting machine. The kerfs’ quality of workpiece was also evaluated. |
