With the development of textile industry,the thermal insulation and fire resistance of fabric become a research hotspot.It is necessary to seek a kind of inorganic and environmentally friendly flame retardant with the property of anti-dripping.According to literature research,the heat resistance of fabric can be improved by adding some inorganic particles which are reflective.Therefore,inorganic materials are widely applied in the thermal insulation and fire resistance for fabrics.Mg?OH?2 has many advantages of abundant reserves,environment friendliness,smoke suppression and anti-dripping,which is suitable to be used as flame retardant.However,it is rarely applied in textile yet,so a further study should be conducted.The method of coating is effective to combine inorganic particles and the fabric firmly,which is widely used in textile finishing due to simple operation and low cost.As an adhesive agent,polyurethane resin?PU?has developed rapidly for the properties of high strength,wear resistance,flexing resistance,low temperature resistance,oil and chemical resistance and so on.In this thesis,using Mg?OH?2 particles as a function reagent and PU as a binder,the fabrics were prepared by coating.The heat insulation and flame retardant of the coating fabric were studied.First of all,two kinds of magnesium based coating fabrics were prepared by coating magnesium based waterborne PU on cotton and magnesium based solvent type PU on polyester cottons,respectively.SEM,thermal insulation test and reflection analysis were carried out to analyze the thermal insulation performance of the fabric.Secondly,the vertical burning performance of magnesium based coating fabric was tested according to GB/T 5455-2014.And TG,DSC,FT-IR and residual carbon analysis were used to study the effect of Mg?OH?2 on the flame retardancy of the fabrics.Thirdly,decabromodiphenyl oxide?DBDPO?was coupled with Mg?OH?2 to research the flame retardancy of DBDPO/Mg?OH?2 coating polyester cottons.The result of this formula was compared with that of traditional DBDPO/Sb2O3 formula.Due to the reflection effect,magnesium based coating has a property of thermal insulation which is enhanced with reducing particle size and increasing content of Mg?OH?2.Magnesium based coating fabric has no good flame retardant property.When both the mass fractions of Mg?OH?2 and DBDPO are 30%and the number of coating layer is two,the flame retardant of the coating fabric can reach grade B1 with anti-droplet effect.
