Blended fibers from synthetic and natural sources have a specific advantage of successfully combining the best properties of both fiber components.In polyester/cotton blends;resiliency of polyester helps to retain fabric shape without losing the comfort features provided by the cotton.Moreover,garments using such a blend are more easily laundered,dry quickly and can be ironed using a lower temperature than pure cotton.Blends of both polyester and viscose fiber giving luster and durability to the fabric,Viscose improves the durability of polyester over the single compounds blends of viscose with Polyester that are mostly exciting.Although they are different but complementary.Both have the man-made fiber qualities of Uniformity,cleanliness,and continuity of supply and value;in the blends,the Polyester contributes to strength,resilience,and stability,and the viscose contributes absorbency,softness,and handle.BCotton and polyester have different physical and chemical properties such as(length,diameter,wettability,strength,elongation,elasticity,torsional rigidity,frictional properties,thermal properties,density and resistance to chemicals)these differences of properties have led to treat this blend within proper conditions.Polyester/cotton blend has scoured in order to improve the wettability,cotton has high resistance to alkalis while polyester has a negatively affected when treated under kier pressure boiler in the presence of alkalis.Therefore,the main aim of this research is to scour the cotton fiber individually before blending with polyester to avoid an adverse impact on polyester later in the fabric.The results noted that there is improvement in the wettability of blend without affecting the mechanical properties of the polyester.This study suggests that the scouring of cotton fibers before blending with polyester leads to better properties of blending yarn.Heat treatment has a large impact on the cellulosic materials,characteristic changes in induced by heat have been studied widely.Treatment by high-temperature lead to loss of strength,reduce the degree of polymerization(DP).And some other properties change such as a reduction in the ability of absorption the moisture and dyes thus change the color.Owing to the fact that polyester has a very compact structure and high crystallinity,therefore,the choice of dyes for polyester is limited to the disperse dye range,as we know disperse dyes required high temperature to apply on polyester fiber,unfortunately Heat treatment has a large impact on the cellulosic materials therefore in the case of dyeing blends polyester/cotton or polyester/viscose to avoid the change of characteristics of cellulosic fibers,polyester have been dyed individually with disperse dye,cotton,and viscose dyed with reactive dyes and spun by two ways in ring spinning machine in order to improve the mechanical properties and dyeability of blends.The results showed that the better method to spin the blends polyester/cotton or polyester/viscose is to spin from individual rovings in the ring spinning machine.
