Objective To explore the basic pollution characteristics of PAHs in atmospheric particulates in Baotou,and provide the basis for the Baotou residents' health risk assessment,we have detected the total concentration of PAHs,the monomer of PAHs and the pollution situation of various rings of PAHs of inhalable particles(PM10)in the heating period?the non-heating period and Sandstorm period in different urban functional partition of Baotou(industrial zone,residential quarters,commercial district,suburban district).Method We collected the atmospheric particulates for a 24-hour by the KB-1000 type high-flow sampler.The 16 kinds of PAHs samples were qualitative and quantitative analysis by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer(GC-MS)method.To explore the source of PAHs by the characteristic ratio.By toxicity equivalent concentration method,we use the BaP as reference to the total carcinogenic equivalent concentration(BaP-TEQ),total mutation equivalent concentration(Ba P-MEQ),people lifelong excess risk of cancer(R)and loss of life expectancy(LL)index to evaluate risk to the health of residents.Results The US EPA priority control pollutants list of 16 kinds of PAHs of atmospheric PM10 were detected in the four sampling area three sampling period.(1)The heating period of PAHs total content is higher than the heating period and sand period,the difference of three groups comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05),the content of BaP in heating period is higher than the heating period and sand,the difference of three groups comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05),The content of PAHs in the three sampling area(in addition to the business district)of PM10 variation trend is: the heating duration>the heating duration>sand,the content PAHs of PM10 in downtown variation trend is: the heating duration>sand stage>the heating period;(2)The industrial park of PAHs total content is higher than the suburbs,commercial and living quarters,the difference of four groups comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05),the content of BaP in industrial zone is higher than the suburbs,commercial and residential,the difference of four groups comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05),the content PAHs of PM10 in the heating period variation trend is: industrial >suburban>living area>suburban area district.The content PAHs of PM10 in the non-heating period variation trend is: industrial zone>suburb>business district>living area.The content PAHs of PM10 in the Sandstorm period variation trend is:industrial suburb>businessdistrict> residential quarters>suburb area.(3)The experimental detection of PAHs is given priority to with four rings and five rings and the high ring of PAHs total content in heating duration is higher than the heating period and sand period.(4)PAHs of PM10 come from coal emissions.(5)The detection of PAHs in three times four sampling area show the total carcinogenic equivalent in relation to BaP concentration(BaP-TEQ),total mutation equivalent concentration(Ba P-MEQ)are overweight.Conclusions The contamination of PAHs in the atmospheric PM10 were relatively serious in the four sampling area three sampling period in Baotou and exist a greater threat to the health of the residents;The PAHs of PM10 are in the high ring and mainly come from coal-fired emissions.
