With the deepening of cotton system reform and the rapid development of cotton textile industry,the huge market potential has driven the rapid development of China's cotton processing industry.In the meantime,higher requirements on the quality of raw cotton have been proposed by the market and cotton processing enterprises have to pay more attention to the urgent requirements of the quality of seed cotton ginning.But the most domestic cotton processing enterprises adopt extensive processing methods currently,resulting in a huge waste of resources and economic loss.Therefore,it is the inevitable choice of changing the traditional processing way by combining the computer simulation analysis of cotton process.In this paper,taking sawtooth cotton gin process as the research object,the relationship between speed of cotton gin,the density of cotton lap and the quality of raw cotton are analyzed by finite element and neural network.Then the finite element analysis of the cotton gin process is realized and the most suitable parameters are selected for reasonable values of cotton gin speed in order to improve the quality of cotton ginning.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Three parameters model and the Burgers model are proposed to describe the viscoelastic properties of cotton fiber and the differential constitutive equations of viscoelastic model is built.Then the creep,the relaxation tests and data processing are accomplished and the Burgers model is selected to describe cotton fiber mechanical properties which is the foundation for the realization of finite element analysis in the process of cotton ginning.At the same time,the affection of moisture regain on mechanical properties of cotton fiber is studied by creep and relaxation experimental contrast analysis with the cotton fiber under the normal state and completely soaked situation.(2)The finite element model of interaction between the blade and the cotton lap is established in ANSYS.And the viscoelasticity of cotton lap is expressed by Prony series in ANSYS combined with the Burgers model parameters.Then the finite element analysis of cotton ginning process is realized which is the foundation for the establishment of neural network model.Then the analysis of the influence of speed,density,pressure angle of saw blade on the cotton production are accomplished by theoretical calculation and finite element analysis.(3)Neural network model is built up to predict the quality of raw cotton.In order to get better quality of raw cotton,backward prediction of cotton gin speed is raised and reasonable value is selected.As the condition of the original model cannot meet the requirements,a new model with reaction forces on the blade by combining with finite element analysis is put forward to meet the expectation of the improvement of quality of cotton ginning.(4)The reaction forces of the finite element analysis of gin process are extracted.The BP neural network and GA-BP neural network combined with reaction forces are used to forecast the cotton gin speed.And the predictions of two kinds of neural network model are used to compare the results.The results verify the correctness of the proposed model,and the prediction result of GA-BP neural network model is better which provides a strong support for the selection of cotton gin speed value.The paper aims at the study of the application of computer simulation technology in the process of cotton ginning which achieves the optimization of the parameters to improve the quality of cotton production and provides a new method for cotton production.
