Textile industry in China earns the earliest access to international markets, which turns out to bethe best growing, the fastest rising and the most developed industry in the international market.Currently, cotton is the main natural fibers used in the textile industry, as an important strategicmaterial, the cultivation and processing of it has been attracting national attention. As for Xinjiangprovince, cotton industry shares a significant part of the Black and White development strategy.Xinjiang is the largest province of the cotton acreage, with the rising labor cost, artificialpickingup method will cause the substantially increasing cotton cost which leads to the lowerprofit of the textile production and more severe situation of manufacturing chain, which isundoubtedly making China's textile industry more rigorous.In this context, mechanical picking up method shows the enormous potential of cutting costs ofcotton production, not only in reducing the picking costs, but also in enhancing the marketcompetitiveness of China's cotton industry. However, there are some problems promoting themechanical process: Firstly, the cultivation of the mechanical picking cotton must follow themechanical picking standard, the number of it is less than the artificial picking one, which meansfarmers' income per unit will be reduced; Secondly, compared with artificial picking up method,the spinning enterprises generally unwilling to accept the mechanical picked cotton, because ofsome disadvantages such as the length of fiber, the maturity consistency, the uniformity, the shortfiber rate and the fiber's color. So the quality and impact research on the Xinjiang mechanicalpicked cotton is facilitative meaningful to mechanical picking up technology.This paper is based on the research of Xinjiang mechanical picked cotton, analyzing theinfluence factors and importance of their quality. One-Way Analysis of Variance, fitting regressionmodel and the main effect diagram means are used to analyze the effect of cotton variety,pickingup methods, ginning processing and other factors on the cotton performance and spinning ability.The research are as follows:(1)The comparison analysis of fiber performance between mechanical picked cotton: WithinXinjiang region, sampling different varieties of cotton fiber with the same producing condition.The samples are testing by HVI tester, using Upper Half Mean Length, Uniformity Index, ShortFiber Content, Micronaire, Strength, Reflectance, Yellowness and SCI as judgment index. Fromthe test of the statistical judgment index, the results show that both New Land32and New Land38are good in the south of Xinjiang, in the northern Xinjiang the better varieties are90-3and81-4.(2)The influence of picking up methods on fiber properties: the methods of picking up areclassified into mechanical picking up method and artificial picking up method, in which mechanical picking up method is subdivided into different methods based on the machines used,this paper selects two machineries (Guihang picker, Deere picker).With the comparison analysisbetween different picking up methods, the results suggest that the properties of cotton whichpicked by the mechanical picker are basically the same as the one harvested by hand. It indicatesthat mechanical picking up method has great potential.(3)The research of ginning mode influence on the properties of the mechanical picked cotton:using the ginning clean up numbers and ginning sawtooth types as classification standards,compared the performance of cotton with different ginning clean up numbers and different ginningsawtooth types respectively under the same factors, drawing to the conclusion that four seedcleaning and two airflow cleaning and smaller sawtooth type are the optimal ginning manner.(4)The yarn's performance comparison between mechanical picked cotton and artificial pickedcotton: according to the test program, using the sample spinning under the same condition, andthen using Uster's HL400, UT5,UTR,UTJ and UTTZ5for yarn performance testing, selectingCVm, S3, Neps, TrashCount, B-Force, Elong and Twist as indicators of performance evaluation,and then compared with Uster Statistic, obtaine the result that hand picking yarn performance arebetter than the mechanical picked cotton.Combined the above research with the cotton overall performance factor,we can see that:selecting cotton variety,picking up methods,the number of ginning clean up tracks and ginningsawtooth types as four aspects to analyze yarn's performance has been proved to be scientific. Inwhich of that cotton variety influences yarn's performance most, followed by ginning sawtoothtype, the number of ginning tracks and picking up method, so in the actual production process, weneed to choose different conditions according to the needs of the production, using the cottonrationally, improving performance of cotton yarn and its textile products.
