Study On The Preparation And Application Of Softening And Smoothing Agent For Tissue Paper

With the development of economy,people pay more and more attention to the quality of life.As daily necessities in human life,the quantity and quality of tissue paper and toilet paper are gradually increased.Product properties,such as softness and smoothness,are important for tissue paper since this product is contacted with the mouth,nose,eyes and other sensitive skin directly.Production of the soft and smooth tissue paper can not only improve the quality and add value of tissue paper,but also meet the needs of different demands.This research aims to develop a new softening and smoothing agent for tissue paper.Firstly,the amino silicone micro-emulsion was developed by inversing phase emulsification in this study.The optimum emulsification conditions of amino silicone micro-emulsion were investigated.The results showed that fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether AEO-3 and alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether TX-10 were used as compound emulsifier.The mass ratio of AEO-3 to TX-10 was 5:7.The amount of compound emulsifier was 50%of the quality of amino silicone.The pH value of the system is 6.5.The emulsifying temperature is 30 ?.The transparent and stable amino silicone micro-emulsion with solid content of 26.45%and average particle size of 16.33nm was prepared.The amino silicone micro-emulsion was applied to the surface of tissue paper by spraying.As a result,the softness of tissue paper increased.The friction coefficient,the strength and the hydrophilicity of tissue paper decreased with the increase of the spraying weight of amino silicone micro-emulsion.The technical indexes of the tissue paper meet the standard of the super soft facial tissue when the spraying weight of amino silicone micro-emulsion was 4?6%.In order to further improve the softness and smoothness of the tissue paper,glycerol was added during the preparation of the amino silicone micro-emulsification.When the amount of glycerol is 150%of the quality of amino silicone oil,the transparent emulsion with solid content of 39.57%and average particle size of 11.68nm was prepared.The soft and smooth emulsion was applied to the surface of the tissue paper by spraying.As a result,the softness of tissue paper increased.The friction coefficient and the strength of tissue paper decreased.The hydrophilicity of tissue paper decreased slightly with the increase of the spraying weight of soft and smooth emulsion.Compared with the tissue paper coated with amino silicone micro-emulsion,the hydrophilicity of the tissue paper coated with the soft and smooth emulsion was improved.The technical indexes of the tissue paper meet the standard of the super soft facial tissue when the spraying weight of soft and smooth emulsion was about 6%.Finally,the smooth emulsion is mixed with the high pressure water by the metering pump.After that it was sprayed on the surface of the Yankee dryer for making soft and smooth tissue paper.The effect of the soft and smooth emulsion on the softness,smoothness,strength and hydrophilicity of the tissue paper was investigated.The results showed that the softness and smoothness of the tissue paper was significantly improved,and the strength and hydrophilicity decreased slightly.When the coating weight of the sofit and smooth emulsion was 1.05%,the softness of the tissue paper decreased by 30%.The softening property will be good if the softness is low.The static friction coefficient decreased by 19.04%,and the kinetic friction coefficient decreased by 25.99%.The technical indexes of the tissue paper meet the standard.The soft and smooth emulsion is suitable for factory production of soft and smooth tissue paper.
