Amino silicone has been wildly used in many fields of textile industry for its excellent softness, hydrophobic, antifoaming, lubricity and non-toxic, no pollution. It's mainly used as softening agent of textile fiber and fabric, called as king of the softening agent. But amino silicone has three problems in practical application: yellowing, poor hydrophilic property and uneven distribution of amino group, restricts its application, and there is disparity between domestic and overseas product.Amino silicone was synthesized usingα,ω-dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane(WS-62M) and N-β-aminoethyl-γ-aminopropyl methyl dimethoxy siloxane(DL-602) as raw materials, and the performances of it were researched. Then modificated it with X-09, PEG, HDI, DMPA, synthesized polyether modified amino silicone and polyether block modified amino silicone. Synthesis conditions were discussed, and attributed the polymers by IR, NMR, GPC, TG, TEM, SEM and AFM,etc. Experiment results showed that:1. Optimum experimental conditions of amino silicone were that n(62M):n(DL-602)=1.32:1, the catalyst concentration was 0.05g/mL, dosage was 0.06% and reacted at 90℃for 5h. Amino silicone emulsion was stable, and each performance of it achieved market amino silicone softener's finishing level. 2. Modify conditions of polyether modified amino silicone were that n(X-O9):n(DL-602)=3:1, DL-602 dosage was 10%, isopropyl alcohol as solvent and reacted at 80℃for 4h. The stability of the emulsion was good, the whiteness and hydrophilic of the fabric treated with this product were well. 3. Optimum experimental conditions of polyether block modified amino silicone were that n(NCO):n(OH)=1:3, PEG400 dosage was 55%, amino dosage was 3%, carboxyl group dosage was 0.5%. The stability of the emulsion was good, its surface tension was small, the whiteness and hydrophilic of the fabric treated with this product were well, and GPC tested it had high molecular weight. Moreover, the chemical structure of amino silicone and polyether block modified amino silicone was investigated and characterized by IR and 1H-NMR. TEM indicated that the emulsion particles of polyether modified amino silicone and polyether block modified amino silicone were axiolitic, evenly distributed, and TG demonstrated that their thermostability was good. The emulsion particle size of above three kind of copolymers was small and close, and SEM and AFM image indicated that the copolymers could form a smooth polysiloxane film both on cotton fiber and mica surfaces, rendered the fabric good soft and smoothness.
