The potato is the world's fourth largest food crop after wheat,rice and corn,and the government has already implemented the strategy of potato being staple food in 2015.The relevant documents report that the area of potato planting will be expanded to one hundred million acres until 2020,which will greatly promote the development of the potato planting industry.At the same time,potato machinery has also achieved a rapid development.In other countries,the potato cleaning equipment developed in earlier time and with a high level of technology,but it's cost is high and customer service cannot be provided as soon as possible,etc.In domestic,the research on cleaning and sorting equipment is less and less and some technology is still at the laboratory stage.The potato cleaning equipment can instead of human to facilitate a large number of potato sorting work though human's naked eye as before,not only reduced the labor and greatly improved the quality of sorting work.The research system has completed the research and development of intelligent control potato cleaning equipment,there are some problems in the separation process of potato cleaning equipment,such as low separation efficiency,material stack and poor sorting effect,etc,due to uneven material transporting and there also has unreasonable key working parameters,and unreasonable cooperation of the lifting angle of the receiving hopper and the working angle of the first stage sorting device,and the rotation speed of the first stage sorting roller and the speed of the second stage cleaning roller,the feeding amount and separation speed are all not work well,too,and so on.All of those problems will result in the increasing broken skin rate of potato,poor separation efficiency and low accuracy.Low efficiency of separation and the stack of separated potato make adverse consequences for work.This paper mainly aim at the existing problems of the potato cleaning equipment,and make the corresponding improvement.First of all,from hopper convey or to the potato sorting device,hopper working speed is constant,but the thickness of potato stack is constantly changed,leading to the potato separation capacity value instability,and has a direct impact on separation effect and separation efficiency.To solve this problem,we used a distance-measuring sensor.It can collect thickness signal of harvest potato by tuber conveying,and analyzed through PLC control system,and thus,make the automatic control of frequency converter to adjust the motor.Therefore we can ensure the feeding quantity stability,achieve constant flow sorting,intelligent charging,and avoid late cleaning work in material stack,overload and serious material loss,etc.The device is very simple and practical.According to the connection of the display touch screen to the PLC control system,realized the visual function,known function and adjustable function of the material workload of the potato cleaning conveyor.Secondly,considering the aspect that the potato cleaning device's key parameters is seriously affect the potato separation quality,the broken rate of potato and separation efficiency and other issues,this paper will analyze the relationship between the hopper lifting angle,the first separation device work angle and the second cleaning work speed though theoretical calculation,orthogonal test and Ansys Workbench simulation software to determine the best parameters combination to improve the potato cleaning efficiency and reduce the broken rate of potato.
