With the deepening of industrialization, industrial agglomeration and economy agglomeration brought by industrialization is becoming more and more obvious. However, industrialized development also brings a by-product,environmental pollution.Environmental pollution is closely related to economic development. In order to explore the evolution trend of the economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration and analyzes their relationship, this paper qualitatively analyzes the economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration based on a large number of domestic and foreign relevant research reviews. It can be found that there exists agglomeration phenomenon both in economy and pollution,it also can be concluded from the literature that there is an internal relationship between economy and pollution. Moreover, the economy agglomeration will produce pollution agglomeration, and pollution agglomeration also has a restraining effect on economy agglomeration or economic development.First,in order to analyze the time evolution trend of economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration, the Herfindahl index, regional Gini coefficient and geographic concentration index are introduced to measure the economy agglomeration degree and pollution agglomeration degree on temporal evolution from 2001 to 2014 in regions of China. It shows from Herfindahl index that the overall economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration are in weak state during 2001 to 2014.The economy agglomeration presents an ?N? curve.Especially, the agglomeration in 2014 is weaker than that in 2001,which means that the regional economy tends to balanced. The agglomeration of industrial wastewater in 2014 is lower than that in 2001,and the pollution tends to be uniform. The agglomeration of industrial sulfur dioxide in 2014 is declined compared with 2001,and the pollution tends to be balanced. The agglomeration of Industrial solid waste in 2014 is higher than that in 2001,and the pollution tends to agglomeration. From regional Gini coefficient,it can be observed that there is a strong local agglomeration in economy and pollution in China.Geographic concentration index shows that,Shanghai has the highest economy agglomeration and also has the highest pollution agglomeration.Tibet has the lowest economy agglomeration and also has the lowest pollution agglomeration. The economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration are generally strong in the eastern coastal regions. The economy agglomeration of the eastern region in 2014 has declined compared with than in 2001.However,the economy agglomeration of the central and western regions has increased.Compare with that in 2001,the industrial wastewater agglomeration of western regions has declined in 2014,and that in the eastern and central regions has increased. The industrial sulfur dioxide agglomeration of the eastern regions has declined, and that in the central and western regions has a little increased. From 2001 to 2014,the industrial solid waste agglomeration in the western regions has increased, and that in the eastern and central regions has a little declined.Secondly, spatial correlation analysis is used to measure the degree of the spatial agglomeration of economy and pollution.Global spatial autocorrelation test shows that there is correlation in economy agglomeration among China's regions, and the correlation is continuously increasing from 2001 to 2014.In addition, there is also spatial correlation in pollution agglomeration in China's regions. It has the spatial effect.Local spatial autocorrelation test shows that from 2001 to 2014,the spatial homogeneity of the regional economy agglomeration is strong and stable.Meantime, the spatial homogeneities of both regional industrial wastewater agglomeration and regional industrial sulfur dioxide agglomeration tend to be declined. The spatial homogeneity of the regional industrial solid waste agglomeration is not obvious change around the area.Thirdly, this paper uses environmental Kuznets curve to analyze the relationship between economic development and environmental pollution. It can be found from the result of environmental Kuznets curve that there exists a curve relationship between economy and pollution in China. The relationship between the economy and industrial wastewater is an ?N? curve. The relationship between economy and industrial sulfur dioxide is an ?N? curve. The relationship between economy and industrial solid waste is an inverted ?N? curve.Compared with the characteristics of the environmental Kuznets curve in the developed countries during the industrialization period,we can find that the relationship between economy and pollution in China has not reached the inverted ?U? curve in the developed countries during the industrialization period. Then the correlation analysis and spatial panel model are applied to analyze the economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration. The correlation coefficient shows that there is a high correlation between economy agglomeration and pollution agglomeration. The result from spatial econometric model illustrates that the economy agglomeration is an important factor leading to pollution agglomeration. Moreover, the proportion of the second industry and the average household size can significantly affect the pollution agglomeration. The foreign direct investment and the energy consumption intensity may not have a significant impact on industrial "three wastes" pollution agglomeration. However, the foreign direct investment has a positive influence on industrial wastewater agglomeration, and the energy consumption intensity has a positive influence on industrial solid waste agglomeration. Finally, according to the above analysis, this paper puts forward some recommendations: slow down the rate of economic growth to make the environmental governance capacity keep up with the pace of economic growth;adjust the industrial structure to enhance the proportion of the third industry;use the foreign direct investment reasonably and reject high polluting industries;control the average household size and strengthen the awareness of environmental protection;improve energy efficiency, improve the waste recycling chain and explore green energy.
