Comfort Spinning system is a leader in pneumatic compacting technology at present,In order to improve the qualities of spun yarns and reduce energy consumption of compact spinning,Comfort Spinning system continuous technical innovation have made obvious progress.However,the researches on Comfort Spinning system structural improvement and spun yarns' qualities are not comprehensive.Therefore,the flow field distribution of compact-zone and compact-module of three generations Comfort Spinning system are investigated using Fluent software in this paper,which provide the theory and practice basis for develop more advanced pneumatic compacting system in the future.The main content of this paper is as follow: The 3D geometric model of agglomeration part of Comfort Spinning was established by using Solidworks software,in which the device of Comfort Spinning was measured accurately;then it was imported into ANSYS ICEM CFD software to mesh;and then imported into Fluent software to numerical simulation.For numerical simulation of compact-zone,the effect of air guide element of three generations Comfort Spinning system were discussed,In post processing,To make a contrastive analysis the velocity vector and static pressure nephogram of characteristic plane,as well as velocity and static pressure of feature line were distilled.For numerical simulation of compact-module,the effect of negative pressure and the structure of suction insert were discussed.In post processing,isosurface of velocity and isosurface of static pressure were distilled using visualization methods,to analyze the difference of air flow field in compact-module.According to the analysis results,spinning experiment was designed to verify the results.The results of study showed that:The air guide element in three generations Comfort Spinning system have a great effect on compact-zone,the airflow direction on the surface of suction drum became more consistent,the velocity of strand cluster direction and the utilization ratio of negative-pressure obviously increased,with the structural improvement ofsystem the air guide element became more effective for compacting fibers;the utilization ratio of negative-pressure for compact-module of K44,K45,K46 are about 10%,25%,38%respectively,and the energy conservation of three generations system was improved.According to the result of numerical simulation,the main reason of the structural improvement for Comfort Spinning system was increase the velocity of strand cluster direction and negative-pressure in compact-zone,improve the utilization ratio of negative-pressure.According to the fundamental principle of fluid dynamics,the main reason of the structural improvement for Comfort Spinning system was reduce local flow resistance when air flowed in system,reduce the mechanical energy loss of air flow in compact-module.
