It is acomplicated process to design plastic products,which mainly focuses on plastic products development,mold design and manufacturing,mold assembly and tuning,and finally batch production of the plastic products after the tuning is qualified.It requires product designers,mold designers,mold manufacturing workers,and mold assembly and tuning workers to design,revise,optimize and re-design the whole flows for many times before we can achieve the products.traditional optimization design process is not efficient and its final products may not be optimized.Therefore,the traditional design and manufacturing process can not meet the needs of extensive market competition.We have to figure out this difficult problem and find a way to design and manufacture the molds with low cost while efficiently.This article,based on CAD software UG NX6.0 and CAE software Moldflow,illustrates the methods and ideas to solve this kind of problems,following the design and analysis of the molds of the back light rear frames in electronics factories.This article first uses Moldflow to analyze the back light simulateinjection molding process,quickly verify plastic parts and improve the parts structure.make sure the mold frame can be filled quickly during the molding process and shorten the injection molding period.Using the analysis with Moldflow,we can obtain the best gate position,gate shape and gate quantity,obtain reasonable gating system and cooling system,improve the shaping frame size,gate size,flow piping size and cooling system size,and finally determine the best process parameters such that we can injection-mold the best products.This article's analysis result of the parts using Moldflow software is used as the important basis of UG mold design.In the following step,this article uses MoldWizard module based on UG to design the mold structure.MoldWizard in the UG software is the module for injection molding design.With the molding tools in this modulewe will apply face patch and sticking patch to the back light rear frame;with the mold parting managing tool we edit parting lines,design leading lines,create parting faces,construct the mold core and the mold frame,and automatically produce mold parts such as mold cores and mold frames;finallywe load standard mold base and standard parts to finish the mold structure design of back light rear frames.This article combines the usage of both UG NX6.0 and Moldflow software to resolve the problem of mold design and analysis of back light rear frames.This method is a good reference to injection mold CAE/CAD of mid complexity.At the same time it is an important guidance of how to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the injection mold design.
