As a common type of industrial machinery parts,screw pole is widely used in compressors,freezers,screw pumps,rubber and plastics machinery,food extruders,petroleum screw drilling tools and other mechanical products.In these products,the screw pole is the core component,generally used for raw materials processing,feeding and other processes,and its processing quality and accuracy are closely related to the efficiency of these machinery products.Because of the different application purpose,the application range of the special shape screw pole is expanding and the demand is growing rapidly.But the form is complicated and diverse,which brings great difficulty to the manufacturing and processing of the screw pole.Milling method is mostly adopted internationally to process special shape screw pole,but this method of processing is of low precision and high cost;small and medium enterprises usually use lengthened ordinary lathe to process it,the processing accuracy depends entirely on the operator's experience and technical level,which results in the inconstancy of the quality.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the CNC lathe for the special shape screw pole.In order to solve the above problems,this paper analyzes the several commonly used geometric modeling methods,and makes a discrete 3D modeling of the blank based on the element method.A simplified data storage method is proposed,by combining the mathematical model of the special shape screw pole,the algorithm of material removal between the tool and the workpiece is deduced.And the constant scallop-height method is used to calculate the step length of the tool to determine the number of timers.According to the mathematical model and strain condition of the chip,the method of parameterization of the chip model is determined.And then use the AABB bounding box for rough collision detection,which can effectively eliminate no collision,and then use fine collision detection method between the planes to achieve fast and effective collision detection,in order to test the relevant processing parameters of the special shape screw pole.Finally,in the Visual Studio environment,with the help of C# programming language and the OpenGL 3D graphics library,the virtual CNC turning system of special shape screw pole is developed including the functional modules such as parameter input,tool setting,workpiece setting and collision detection,etc.In this paper,through a study of the discrete modeling method and material removal algorithm,a more complete special shape screw pole virtual turning system is established,and the special shape screw pole turning processing and material removal process are realized.Verified by experimental results,it turns out the system has good real-time,interactive and dynamic simulation capabilities,and can provide a guarantee for the actual CNC turning of special shape screw pole.
