Shearer is one of the main equipment of the mechanized mining face. Once the work fail,the coal mining operation will be interrupted and the coal production enterprises will be brought huge losses. As the core part of the planetary gear reduction mechanism of the shearer cutting part,The drum sun gear's mechanical performance will directly affects the safety and reliability of the shearer. Aiming at this problem, in this dissertation, through theoretical analysis, physical experiment and finite element numerical simulation method, In this dissertation, the influence of the surface treatment process on the mechanical properties of the shearer drum sun gear's analyzed by theoretical method, physical experiment and finite element numerical simulation.The main contents are as follows:(1) Using the Vickers hardness physical experiment, the hardness of the tooth surface to the tooth core after the carburizing and quenching process of the surface of the drum gear of the shearer was measured, and the influence of the surface treatment process on the hardness distribution of the gear was analyzed.(2) On the basis of the physical experiment, the yield strength value of the tooth surface to the tooth area is obtained indirectly by the finite element numerical simulation technique.Anew method of the mechanical strength of the material is determined by the hardness value HV.(3) Based on the finite element numerical simulation technique , the change of mechanical properties before and after the surface treatment and also the influence of different tooth surface hardness on the mechanical properties of the drum sun gear were analyzed and compared,so at the same time,a reasonable area of the hardness of the gear surface under certain conditions was got, and the influence law of the surface treatment process on the mechanical properties of the drum sun gear was obtained.The results of this study can provide some reference for the shearer manufacturing enterprises to improve the manufacturing quality of the shearer drum gear and reduce the failure rate of the shearer.
