In this paper,environmental protection,safety and high value methods will be used to reuse the recovered waste electrical shell ABS.ABS belongs to thermoplastic material and can be processed many times,but its direct utilization property is very poor.PBT has high mechanical strength,But the notched impact strength is small.The recycled ABS/PBT alloy was prepared as the matrix and PBT as the dispersed phase.The modification of waste ABS blend into a qualified recycled alloy can not only solve the pollution to the environment,but also produce great economic benefits.However,the amorphous ABS is incompatible with the crystallized PBT.Therefore,the compatibility of the blends can be improved by increasing the interfacial strength between them,and a renewable alloy with excellent comprehensive properties can be prepared.Firstly,compared with GPC?FTIR?SEM and the mechanical properties of the new and old ABS,it was determined that the molecular chain breaks and the molecular weight distribution becomes wider after rABS aging,and the active chemical groups such as hydroxyl group or carboxyl group are produced as a result of oxidation degradation.For the reasons above,the mechanical properties of r ABS are decreased,especially the notched impact strength.Secondly,,To maximize the use of rABS,the ratio of rABS/PBT is 7/3 by the preparation of different proportions of the blend alloy?Compared with the old and new ABS/PBT,DMA and DSC tests showed that the Tg of rABS/PBT blends is close to each other,and the crystallinity of r ABS/PBT blends is decreased,which indicates that the compatibility of rABS/PBT blends is better than that of ABS/PBT blends;finally,Using glycidyl methacrylate(GMA)grafted rABS and methyl methacrylate butadiene-styrene(MBS)as compatibilizers,The effect of compatibilizer rABS-g-GMA?MBS on the mechanical properties,crystallization and phase structure of rABS/PBT alloy was studied.The above compatibilization uses rABS aging active group and PBT hydroxyl terminal,carboxyl group reaction to increase the compatibility,and then to rABS graft epoxy,adding MBS which can exchange with PBT ester.The compatibility of the blends was improved by forming chemical bonding at the interface,The results show that the notched impact strength of the modified blend is the most obvious,the storage modulus is increased,the crystallinity is reduced,and the network structure is formed on the fracture surface,which makes the toughness of the material increase.The mechanical properties of the regenerated rABS/PBT blends prepared by the above experiments show that the compatibility of the rABS/PBT blends is better than that of the ABS/PBT blends,but the toughness of the blends is poor due to the serious aging of the matrix,and when the content of PBT is 30%,Tensile strength increased by 23.8%over rABS,the elongation at break and notched impact strength were 18%,3.1KJ/m~2,respectively.When15%rABS-g-GMA was added,the elongation at break and impact strength reached 46%?5.1KJ/m~2,respectively.The tensile strength of MBS with 8phr decreased,but the elongation at break and impact strength of rABS/PBT increased 83%and 206%,respectively,compared with uncompatibilized rABS/PBT.Through the research on rABS from aging mechanism to melt blending system,the blend material with excellent mechanical properties is obtained,which not only improves the practical application value,and the production cost is greatly reduced.Therefore,the r ABS/PBT blend prepared by rABS provides a new idea for the high value recovery and utilization of the waste electrical appliance shell.
