Combustible dust is an important material for civil and industrial manufacturing industry,the explosive characteristics and explosion safety of the security issue is an important research field.Dust dispersion process involves many transient two-phase variables,and is the prerequisite for further dust explosion research.In this paper,CFD numerical method is applied for the simulation of dust dispersion process in 20 liter explosion vessel which has secondary-pulse nozzles.We have achieved the following main results.Based on CFD technology,we built the simulation model of the 20 liter vessel dust dispersion system,which involving mesh construction by Gambit and specific boundary setting by Fluent.In this paper,we decide to ignore the interaction between particles.By applying Eu1er-Lagrange discrete phase model and k-? model,simulation result such as velocity vector,turbulence kinetic energy and particles track images are obtained.And this model is verified by pneumatic dust dispersion experiment,which indicated under the same condition,the dust cloud opening angle and cloud thickness are quite familiar.The maximum relative errors are 17.4% and 8.7%,and the average relative errors are 12.4% and 3.2%.By changing the simulation conditions(pneumatic pressure and duration),we obtain the variation by monitoring different objects(velocity vector,turbulence kinetic energy,particles track and dust concentration).After analyzing those images and charts,we are well enough able to figure out how the pneumatic condition affects the dust dispersion process in this particular 20 liter vessel.
