The variable motion and brake of slider in any position, with holding pressure, is demanded in the design of the press, which is used in hot stamping production of high-strength steel for the automotive. Besides, the slider should have a certain length of working stroke and higher productivity. The paper proposes a transmission mechanism of servo press for the hot stamping, the screw and multi-linkages with a triangular toggle included.To analyze several different transmissions types firstly, screw with multi-linkages is determined as the initial program of drive mechanism, and then four types of screw with multi-linkages is compared. Finally, the screw with middle-triangle toggle is confirmed. To meet the technical requirements of hot stamping, the paper improved and optimized the mid-toggle transmission mechanism. According to the structural parameters required by optimization, the virtual prototype model is built in software MSC.ADAMS to prove that the structure is practicable.In order to offer the theoretical and mathematical basis of control system, the forward and inverse kinematic mathematical models of the mechanism were deduced by using the relationships of angles and rod lengths. Based on the analysis, the slider kinematic analysis has been done by m file and visual function of Matlab. Then inverse kinematics analysis formula is required by polynomial curve fitting. Otherwise, the load amplification factor is approximately required by calculating the static mechanical equation.To meet the technical requirements of hot stamping and particularity of servo press, the paper designed the body, slider and guideline according to the requirements of manufacture and use. According to the results of analysis, which is required by finite element analysis of top bridge and baseboard, body can be improved to meet the strength and stiffness.
