3D process is designed mainly to complete the full 3D manufacturing of product, Process planning and detailed process design are conducted on the 3D model, The process’ s dissemination and implementation are completed finally, The full information process model is the core in the process of the concept. The construction of the whole information process model of machine process design system is mainly focused on in this paper, The correlation analysis is carried out from three aspects, the creation of part geometric model, dimensioning and the automatic generation of dimension, the integration of process information, In the end, this paper presents a scheme of building the information process model based on tool path, which improves the process design quality and operating efficiency of 3D machining process design system. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) The scheme of the whole information process model construction in the present stage of 3D process design system is analyzed. Through the analysis, There are some features cannot be defined or identified in the generation of process geometric model, and the size information cannot be generated automatically,Besides,the process information is also confusing, which limit the application and popularization of the 3D process design system.(2) The basic theory to construct the whole information 3D process model is analyzed. The 3D model creation method, size classification and the process dimensions chain solution, and the integration of process information are analyzed, Finally, its meaning and significance are also presented.(3) The NURBS fitting of the cutter location points in the machining tool path and the creation of the procedure geometric model are analyzed. The distribution of the cutter location in the machining tool path is studied firstly, and the cutter sites are fitted by the method of fuzzy clustering classification, then the mathematical model of general tool is established, the mathematical analytic formula of the envelope surface is solved based on the envelope condition.(4) The process information integration of 3D process design in machining. First of all, The process data classification and organization of the whole information process model are analyzed, and the different kinds of process data hierarchy is summarized. XML is used to managed process data, and the process knowledge base is constructed through it. Finally, it is also used to the output of the MBOM which have structured process information.Finally, The 3D process design platform is built,which is based on the generation technology of process model. The operation interface of the system is demonstrated by some examples, and the technology is an effective support for each module of the system.
