Research On Enhancement And Revitalization Of Street Space Environment In Xihongmen Area

With the rapid development of China’s economy and the constant progress of society,the population gathers towards urban centers continuously,which makes the city limits expand rapidly.Urban fringe areas face the issues that street space environment lacks of energy and so on,due to limitations of their own development.The paper combining the transformed instance of Xihongmen block explores the strategies and methods to improve the vitality of urban street space environment through planning control.The purpose is to provide reference for future environmental enhancement of urban street space edge region.Thesis is divided into four parts:Chapter I describes the research background of street space environment,purpose and meaning,the conceptions of street space environment and vitality,status quo of relevant research and overview the papers content,the methods used and the general framework.Chapter II conducts the research of Xihongmen projects directly,mainly on the status,spatial features and problems of the street space environment in the Xihongmen Area.The paper summarized the elements of street space environment through sorting dynamic street space environment cases in the third chapter,describing the interface,spatial features,details and scale,public participation and other aspects respectively.The third chapter summarizes the main points to build vibrant street space environment which are based on the description of the elements which include the function of the street,transportation,space,landscape,furnishings,public participation as well as other aspects.The chapter Ⅳ sums up the principles and policies of improving street space environmental viability of renovation on the basis of Second and Third chapters,stressing the integrity of systematic and uniqueness of the organizations of street space environment elements.The paper demonstrates it combining the renovation practice of Xihongmen street space environment.The paper carries on the updated control study lastly from the formulation of guidelines,policies and regulations,implementation and management,the post-evaluation,building a sense of community.The end of the paper is a summary and prospective for the future of street space environmental renovation,hoping urban streets to become safe,universally enjoyable,open,and ecological residential autonomy with vibrant public space.
