Study On The Safety And Usability Detection And Evaluation Method For Steel Building And Exterior-protected Structure

The large-span steel structure, glass, metal or stone curtain wall of enclosure structure, metal roof structure, cable-membrane structure etc. are widely used in public works in our country. Many of them have been used for one or two decades. If the damage, which was caused by quality defects, corrosive factors of environment, influence of wind load or vibrations from facilities in them, ground subsidence etc., can not be detected and maintained promptly and properly, it will have detrimental impact on usability even safety of the structures.Many proprietors of large public works do not take the initiative to evaluate and maintain the buildings because of lack of guideline criterion and regulation of the safety and usability detection and evaluation method for structures in service especially steel building structures. They spend a great deal of time and money to repair the damage, even take the consequence of severe casualties, which would be easily maintained if it could be detected earlier. So it is necessary to test and assess the building structures during its in-service life.This paper has research on assessment of safety and usability main building and exterior-protected structure of one terminal, based on test and analysis of deformation measurement, welded seams, bolt joints, anticorrosive coating, prestressed cable-braces in the steel roof, jointing elements of glass wall, weatherproof adhesive, connecting pieces of metal roof panel and preservative technology of aluminium sheets according to general criterion and regulation of architecture and construction.It has been carried out operable method, frequency and criteria for safety and usability evaluation of main steel building and its exterior-protected structures as metal roof and glass wall in this paper based on the research of one terminal structure, which can give rational guidance on routine inspection and maintain planning activity for proprietors during its in-service time and also on detection and evaluation of safety and usability of structures of this kind.
